21.01.2022 BREAKING: From 4pm today, you can grab a drink or meal at your favourite venue without having to be seated. It’s one of the changes we’re making as part of Quee...nsland’s new roadmap to easing restrictions. Your safety is still the most important thing venues must operate with a COVID Safe Plan. We’re able to take these careful steps because of our strong health response and the hard work of Queenslanders. It’s great news for business and our continuing economic recovery, so make sure you get out and support your local this weekend. Cheers, Queensland

13.01.2022 Next up, we farewell the Toowoomba region and roll on down to the border town of Texas. On paper, Texas has a romantic history that can rival Deadwood. Named a...fter the US land dispute, but in honour of a local one between two brothers and some post-gold rush squatters, Texas earned its stripes with farming, silver mining and tobacco. Driving on the meandering road over the Dumaresq River leading out of Texas, you can have the great pleasure of driving in and out of state lines between QLD and NSW in your search for old tobacco stacks Texas is also a border town. Festival of Small Halls rolls into Texas on Friday, 16th October with one of Australia's most celebrated singer-songwriters Shellie Morris Music and critically acclaimed blues and roots duo Hussy Hicks. Texas Memorial Hall stands on land traditionally owned by the Bigambul people. Proudly supported by Goondiwindi Regional Council and the Texas Arts Council For more information about this show, visit our website: https://festivalofsmallhalls.com/texas-2020/ #HallsSpring #thisisqueensland #liveinqueensland

10.01.2022 VICTORY! INVERELL & GWYDIR SHIRES ALSO INCLUDED IN QUEENSLAND BORDER BUBBLE I have just had formal confirmation that the Inverell and Gwydir Shires will be... included, in their entirety, within the Queensland Government’s COVID-19 border bubble, from 1am Thursday, 1 October. This is the breakthrough our communities have been calling for since the ridiculous, postcode based, border zone was implemented in early August. After six weeks of pain, frustration and heartache finally the Queensland Government has made a rational decision and created a travel zone based on local government areas, instead of postcodes. This decision late today means Inverell and Gwydir Shires will join Moree Plains, Glen Innes and Tenterfield LGAs in the bubble, which is brilliant news. More information, as well as travel passes, can be found here: https://www.qld.gov.au//bord/border-restrictions-1-october Inverell Shire Council Gwydir Shire Council Inverell Times ABC New England North West The Gwydir News Inverell Chamber of Commerce & Industry Warialda District Chamber

For those who’d like to know more about TADDS (Texas & District Drought Support) just do a Facebook search. It’s a very active group. Texas was Day 1 for the drivers, before heading off through Yelarbon on their way to Nindigully on day 2.
