Not only great with design (have you seen the awesome poster for the Mackay Cabaret Festival) but also has some wicked singing chops. I met Ben in a musical a few years ago and was lucky t...o see him marry his stunning wife (Kelly Cooper catch her performing in the festival) who is the best soprano in Mackay. 23.01.2022 Joel Bow Productions would like to introduce possibly the best soprano in Mackay, Kelly Cooper. Having performed several corporate gigs for Joel Bow Productions, Kelly has been eager to sink her teeth into cabaret for a long time and the Mackay Cabaret Festival is very happy about that. Kelly Cooper: Originally from the Gold Coast, Kelly has performed in many shows in her time. Her most recent role was for the Mackay Musical Comedy Players as Glinda in Wicked that blew the ro...of off the MECC to dazzling applause. Prior to this Kelly has played Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Kate Monster in Avenue Q, Kathy Selden in Singin’ in the Rain, Liesl von Trapp in The Sound of Music, Christine Daae and Mary Poppins in A Night of the Poms, Wendla Bergmann in Spring Awakening and Johanna Barker in Sweeney Todd. Kelly also excels in directing. She directed an award winning production of Beauty and the Beast in 2014 and productions of Ivy Shambitt and the Sound Machine and Musical Mania Cabaret for Whitsunday Anglican School where she works as a Drama teacher. 13.01.2022 Joel Bow Productions is super pumped to announce the beautiful and talented Molly Rossetto will be a special part of the Mackay Cabaret Festival. Joel Bow: The first time I was witness to Molly’s vocals properly I was first knocked to the ground during a rehearsal for Sweeney Todd. I knew I had to act fast and decided to produce a one woman show specifically for Molly that instantly sold out and was the first performance at Aspire Performing Arts one of Mackay’s leading ...performing arts schools. I am very fond of telling people, I don’t really ‘do’ shows anymore unless Molly is involved. Molly Rossetto: Molly is an established young performer and educator in Mackay. Having completed her Bachelor of Theatre (Music Theatre) Molly continued her studies in Secondary Education in Brisbane before returning to the cane fields of north qld to teach music and drama. Molly recently appearing as Lucy Barker in Sweeney Todd, was a Featured Vocalist in Songs For a New World, brought the house down as Mary in Jesus Christ Superstar and will be the vocal coach for Rock of Ages. Molly wrote and starred in her own cabaret show - Man Songs to rave reviews and was a major part of the Anywhere Theatre Festival Award winning cabaret show, Timber Dreams with Kurt Phelan - both proudly for Joel Bow Productions. 12.01.2022 Joel Bow Productions is pleased to introduce one of the finest pianists in QLD, who will be working on the Mackay Cabaret Festival, Sarah Rozekrans. Joel Bow Festival Director: Some decisions as a producer just make sense. If your going to produce a cabaret festival you need a talented pianist to accompany the singers. Sarah Rozekrans is that talented accompanist. She’s kinda one of the best there is. When Judith Brown is blown away by your talents you KNOW your doing ...something right. Sarah has been working on my shows since I moved to Mackay and not only is she one of the most talented, awesome, brilliant and beautiful people in my life, I’m fortunate that she is a dear friend, whom I love with all my heart. SARAH ROZEKRANS: Sarah graduated from CQCM with a Bachelor of Music in 2008, and was awarded with ‘Student of the Year’ at the beginning of 2009. The following year, Sarah completed her Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching. Although she studied classical piano, Sarah went on to perform and musically direct cabaret shows for ‘OzCabaret’- a theatre company founded by fellow music theatre graduates. The cabaret troupe performed and received five-star reviews at Adelaide Fringe (AUS) 2013, Edinburgh Fringe (UK) 2013, Eindhoven ‘Best of The Fest’ (NL) 2013, Amsterdam Fringe (NL) 2013 and London Wine and Cheese Festival (UK) 2013. Sarah returned to Mackay and started her role as the Cultural Coordinator and senior music teacher at St Patrick’s College. Meanwhile, she performed in local musical productions such as Rent for Red Giraffe Theatre and Legally Blonde for MMCP. She has been the repetiteur, vocal coach and conductor for several productions such as Legally Blonde, 13, Jesus Christ Superstar and Songs For A New World. Sarah has worked alongside artists such as CQCM graduate, Madeline Cain (Cats) and music theatre star Kurt Phelan (‘Johnny’ from Dirty Dancing, American Idiot). In 2017, Sarah accompanied Kurt Phelan in the award-winning cabaret show Timber Dreams as part of the Anywhere Theatre Festival for Joel Bow Productions. Sarah is currently enjoying her maternity leave but looks forward to lecturing at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music this year. Sarah Rozekrans will accompany Molly Rossetto and Madeline Cain on Friday, 6th April and Kelly Cooper on Saturday, 7th April.
