09.01.2022 News flash (reposted with correct details)- Townsville Sailing Club (with major assistance from Yachting QLD) has been provisionally selected to host the 2015 W...orld Laser 4.7 Womens & Youth Championships - Olympic feeder classes for females (Laser Radial) & for Men (Laser Standard). This is great news - but we have to get some serious $$$ behind us to lock this deal in. Please contact Peter Carey on [email protected] if you can assist in attracting Government & private funding to host this event - the required $$$ is in the $100s of $1k (ie approximately $500k total hosting costs). We will require guaranteed support of $250k to lock this in. Reasonably big numbers, so your assistance in getting this support is appreciated!! See more

05.01.2022 MYC turned on some beautiful winter weather for 6 keen sailors from Townsville SC, Whitsunday SC and Mackay YC. Boat handling and racing skills were the focus for the weekend with all sailors making big improvements. Sailing backwards appeared to be a highlight for most.
