From these trials a SPP squad will be selected. Our McDonald's Mackay Meteors started the decade with a QBL grand final matchup against the Rockhampton Rockets way in August 2010 - a game the Meteors went down in. A year later, the Meteors got redemption defeating the Rockets in the 2011 QBL grand final before taking down the Rockets once again in the 2012 QBL championship decider.... It was then Rockhampton's turn for QBL grand final honours yet again in 2014, beating the Meteors at Hegvold Stadium. On that very same weekend in 2014 our Global Product Search Mackay Meteorettes defeated the Rockhampton Cyclones in the women's QBL grand final series at the Crater. Two years later it was the Cyclones beating the Meteorettes in the 2016 QBL grand final.
