22.01.2022 SU JUMP CAMP 2020 (Grade 7-9) Aaaand we have a link! It went live over the weekend, so some of the 16 spots have already been filled, but you can find information and register for this event at: https://suqld.eventsair.com/jump-camp-2020/... It really is first in, best dressed (no exceptions) and once the spots are all full, the registrations will close.
22.01.2022 MBY SUPER SATURDAY While we may not be running our annual youth camp this year, we are stoked to announce that we will still be headed out to the Williams' Farm for a day-event on the 17th October! Details and permission form can be found here:... https://drive.google.com//1TLnhHmrU_1O13R4GiHsj92FKa/view See more
20.01.2022 MBY Is Coming Back - Friday 17th July!!! Hi everyone! We are so excited to outline MBY’s return to physically meeting again. It has been so long since we’ve been able to meet together, but now the wait is over. Due to the Covid restrictions though, there are some important things you will need to be aware of logistically. So please take the time to read this email.... _______________________________________________ Two Separate Groups If all of our youth and leaders were to show up, we would have too many people to legally fit into our church auditorium. With that in mind, we have made the decision to separate our Friday nights into two separate groups which will run one after the other: 6:30pm 7:30pm /// Grades 7-9 8:00pm 9:00pm /// Grades 10-12 If you have children in both age groups, you can drop them both off together, with one of them joining a couple of leaders in the Sunday School Room while the other group runs. Drop-Off and Pick-Up In order for the night to flow well, we ask that youth are not dropped off any earlier than 10mins before and are not picked up any later than 10mins after their MBY group. If people arrive early, we ask them to wait until either 6:20 or 7:50 to come inside. The carpark will be set up like a drive-through of sorts. There will be a drop-off point where a leader will be on hand to speak to without parents needing to hop out of their cars. If you still haven’t returned your form for 2020 or if we need to update your details in line with Covid restrictions, you will be directed to some set aside carparks to complete them. When it comes time for collection, we ask that you find a park. The carpark leader will approach your car, ask which children you are picking up and then send for them to come out to you. We really will miss getting to chat to you all after youth, but we can’t have a group of parents waiting together during this time. Donation Ordinarily, we ask youth to donate $3 towards the costs of the food and drink for the night. However, due to the issues with cash and giving change, we have decided on a simple gold coin donation. This way, youth can drop their coin directly into a tin without the money being handled by multiple people. We won’t be giving change. So if youth only have a note, then we are more than happy for them to join in on the night without paying a donation. It's honestly not a big issue for us, so there is no need for people to feel uncomfortable if they don’t have the gold coin (especially given people may not have as much access to coins these days anyway). _______________________________________________ We know this all seems a bit strict and tight, but we’re confident that it will feel a lot more natural on the night. Another post will come out next week with the planner for the term. If you have any questions about the return, feel free to send us an email ([email protected]) or give me a call.
16.01.2022 As always, GAMES, FOOD & FRIENDS! But also, tonight we will be having a discussion about the Bible and how we can get better at actually reading it! So bring a friend and a gold coin and join us tonight - either 6:30 or 8:00 (depending on your age).
15.01.2022 ELECTIVE STUDY NIGHT! Tonight at MBY, you get to choose which topic you want to sit in on. We have 3 different practical aspects of following Jesus to talk about, but you get to decide which one you want to know more about. As always, there will be food, friends and fun as well! See you at either 6:30 (Grade 7-9) or 8:00 (Grade 10-12)
11.01.2022 Just an update to say we haven't forgotten about the JUMP Camp registration page. Apparently it's taking a little bit longer than expected to go live. As soon as we hear anything, we will let you know. But in the meantime, feel free to keep checking in on the SU Camps website.
09.01.2022 Some important information for parents/guardians/youth about our return this Friday
09.01.2022 Reminder! Due to the public holiday, no MBY this week (14th Aug). Look forward to seeing you next week!
06.01.2022 SU TRAINING WEEK 2020! Usually by this point in the year, we would have been plugging SU's Training Week for months, have everything all sorted and be preparing for the trip down south. For obvious reasons, this year has been different. HOWEVER, we are excited to share that Training Week is still going ahead online! ... And recognising that a key aspect of Training Week is usually the community it provides, we at MBY are going to be gathering together each day as we engage in this online camp (more details on that as they come). But if you are in Grades 10-12 and want to be part of this, please REGISTER. If the cost is an issue, let us know and we will be able to help out. If you have any other questions, feel free to hit me up at [email protected].
05.01.2022 WORSHIP NIGHT Tonight at MBY we are spending some time focusing on musical worship, prayer and reflection. Due to the shorter time-frame, we haven't been doing our regular musical worship time. We've had feedback that the youth have really missed this. So we're looking forward to spending some time in worship together tonight!
03.01.2022 TONIGHT AT MBY - Poverty Simulator Ever wondered what life might be like for some of the world's poorest people? The reality is that we will probably never know. However, tonight we have the opportunity to get even just the slightest insight as we participate in a Poverty Simulator. This role play game will see you battling prejudice and injustice as you fight to get you and your family out of poverty.
03.01.2022 This was last week's devotion that we missed out on last week. If you watched on YouTube last week, it's the same one
01.01.2022 Hi everyone! Just a heads up that due to some technical difficulties, our MBY Digital for tonight won't be up on time. There is a chance it won't be loaded until tomorrow. Sorry foe the inconvenience.
