02.01.2022 The palm trees in the City Centre will be looking their best for Christmas. Council will be removing dead fronds and seeds from the trees as part of a scheduled palm tree maintenance program that will start on Saturday (November 28). Palm cleaning will be carried out over two weeks between 5am and 9am on weekdays and weekends on Victoria, Wood, Macalister and Nelson streets, as well as Mangrove Road and Matsuura Drive.... Palm cleaning on Sydney Street will be completed on Sunday, December 6, and will take most of the morning to complete. Full traffic control will be in place and some road/lane closures will be required during the work.
02.01.2022 It has been a month since we first surveyed regional businesses regarding the impacts of COVID-19 on revenue and jobs. Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday Regional Councils and GW3 want businesses to take the survey again so that we can continue to measure impacts and adjust the evidence if necessary, supplied to government agencies working on recovery strategies.
