10.01.2022 * IMPORTANT INFORMATION * There has been some questions asked about the stability of containers in a cyclone and as we enter the cyclone season the following information may be useful. Our engineer advises in most cases a standard 20' (6m) container, loaded with 3 tonnes or more uniformly distributed throughout the container, will be stable during cyclonic winds. If you have an empty container or are unsure of the weight inside, it can be secured to the ground with earth an...chors or to concrete footings with brackets. Four Hulk H50 earth anchors ( available from us) worth $50 each are usually sufficient; kits including ratchet straps and earth anchors are also in stock. Second hand brackets worth $10 each for securing on concrete are also available from us. Further details on earth anchors available at www.mackaycontainers.com.au/earthanchors. Flooding is also a concern in the wet season so be aware that containers will float in less than 500mm of water and have over 30 tonnes of buoyancy. If a flood is predicted we suggest you move the container to higher ground or open a door to prevent it floating.
