06.01.2022 In 1908 it appears to be the start of croquet as a group. I’d think it would have been more of a social outing, afternoon tea, combined with a game of croquet. Miss Black is credited with being the first person to start a croquet club in Mackay. A meeting was called and a president and committee were elected to control and fix the rules of the club. The Croquet Club at this time was established in Gregory Street. Members of the club held a luncheon to celebrate our 111 birthday. Congratulations and we hope to continue into the very distance future.
