22.01.2022 The last day of this years Try Trade Program (3/9) has been cancelled. This is due to Queensland Healths new restriction (dated 22.8) on the number of people gathering in a public place being reduced to 30 people maximum. As the day would involve at least 80 people (including students) meeting at the Hay Point Lookout, we are unable to adhere to this restriction. Certificates of Participation will be forwarded to students through their school by the end of this week.

The only age requirement is to be at least 17 when you start. Theres no upper limit. 2. You need to have completed Year 12 and passed senior maths A or general maths and English (a science subject is also very handy ) OR completed equivalent pre-vocational studies (which might include a Cert II in Electrotechnology) OR have relevant work experience. 3. We cant take applications from current apprentices registered with an RTO, but we can consider applications from apprentices who have been made redundant. 4. Sorry, we dont offer school-based apprenticeships or traineeships 5. All roles and locations are on the Ergon (and Energex!) websites. If a locations not listed, its because nothing is available this year. 6. Best way to make your application stand out is to be really thorough and detailed 7. You need to apply for a particular role at a particular location you cant nominate multiple locations 8. To help those who are shortlisted, well be sharing some useful pre-assessment tests and links on our website in September 9. Successful candidates need to be able to start in Feb 2021 10. Apprentice salaries, allowances and working conditions are in our Enterprise Agreement (see p97 for pay rates): https://bit.ly/31g7DJy
