23.01.2022 A nice healthy #teemburradam #barra on the X Rap Skitter V @timmorgan1974 from @rapalaaustralia sent me to give a run , a windy afternoon and I've never been a fan of topwater in the wind , but this bigger lure with a loud rattle got the attention of this barra and the bite , #topwaterislife

23.01.2022 Not a lot of fishing content from me lately , I've been more focused on my dad that's in hospital doing it real tough . My brother Alan from @lively_lures and I spent a few days with him over the weekend at the hospital along with other family members trying to make him as comfortable and appreciated as possible, he and our grandfather taught us how to fish at very young ages which eventually led to us getting involed in the fishing industry and those early days on ...the water are some of our greatest memories with dad . We bought this outfit for his 70 th birthday for his bass fishing and he caught some good bass on it when he could still go . He gave me the rod several years ago to look after for him. I've never used it as it's a very special outfit to us , on Fathers day he asked me to catch a sooty on it for him so I did , it is now packed away again until fathers day next year when I'll get it out and catch him another one . 22.01.2022 Life is short get out there and explore , western Queensland has some awesome rivers and creeks full of these wild #saratoga and the #sightfishing for these prehistoric fish can be sensational . A well presented bug or bait fish profile will get smashed in full view of the fly angler , 4 or 5 wt rods will handle these fish and are a pleasure to cast all day. If you like #troutfishing you'll like these #tropicaltrout

22.01.2022 Got a call lunch time yesterday from good mate Brett Pretorius, he'd been slaying toga on fly a couple of hrs south of me and said I'm coming for a visit . We fished lots together in Hervey bay so only fitting I took him #barra fishing to end the year of the virus we've just had, and start another one doing what we both love doing , a couple of mates fishing for the love of fishing , don't lose sight of that folks it's just fishing . 20.01.2022 Jared is in Mackay working and contacted me for a session in the salt, he managed to land 5 #queenies missed and lost quite a few others , then unfortunately lost a big #GT that wanted the @lively_lures #slickstick more than we did

20.01.2022 Jerremy contacted me months back to book a trip to get him a #GT , he had bought himself a @ndtackle_aus #chugnorris and had it hanging at his desk at work for inspiration, I started him on #queenies to get warmed up then when the tide was right we hit a pressure point and second cast a G exploded on his lure and the rest is history , G landed and one very happy angler

18.01.2022 First topwater session for the start of spring up at #teemburradam and not a bad way to start , jumped a bigger one on my favourite Ziggy then presented the #zerekskittishdog and this one stayed connected, I always have 2 rods ready with different #topwater lures and it pays off . Water temps still in the low 20's but warming each day , if you want topwater #barra on fly or lures the #Mackayregion is the place to do it we have 3 different lakes to choose from stocked with barra and #sootygrunter.

18.01.2022 A couple of @lively_lures #slickstick in the #chromefusilier colour to replace the one that was lost last Saturday when client Jarred got smoked by a big #gt, this coloured #stickbait seems to attract the bigger class of fish , @meishwoodmac kows all about that landing her 2 biggest #gt on these great #australianmade lures . And yes I do pay for them @ Mackay, Queensland

18.01.2022 A bit more R&D this morning this time at #kinchantdam , love #topwater fishing they weren't interested in a frog so sent out my fav @lively_lures #ziggysd110 and they instantly reacted to the change in presentation. I have some good moon phase slots available due to southern anglers having to cancel because of the border closures

17.01.2022 2020 was certainly the most challenging year of my 17 years of guiding so far , but still plenty of happy anglers getting their first meter plus barra in the lakes with the biggest going 122 cm , in the salt some nice first GT's for anglers here in the Mackay area and the #whitsundays, without a doubt the highlight in the salt for #flyfishing was hosting @aussieflyfisher crew of Josh and @mickey.finn and showing them what the #Mackayregion has to offer the traveling #f...lyfisher with some good flats fishing for Blue salmon , tuskies and topping it off with 2 #permitonfly in the one day for Mickey . Overseas travel will still be restricted in 2021 so if you want a fly fishing or lure fishing getaway consider the #mackay #whitsunday regions , I can guide both areas and they are stunningly beautiful parts of Queensland with a wide variety of species from the Mountains to the Sea , All the best for 21 to everyone #holidayherethisyear See more

16.01.2022 A good but frustrating day on the flats, mate Shaun got a good eat only to have the Rio tapered leader leader pop on the hookup , cast at a lot of permit throughout the day but couldn't convince another one to eat but that's permit .

12.01.2022 After the #kinchantdam stocking yesterday a few of us headed up to #teemburradam to stock another 6000 #barra up there , got it done and cleared the ramp just before the ABT Barra tour guys showed up to get their boats in for the comp , some great bags fish caught by the guys fishing the comp and that's all thanks to the ongoing work by the #mackayareafishstockingassociation .

09.01.2022 Ross fished with me in Hervey Bay years ago and is up in Mackay working and was keen for a fish so gave me a call , we organised an afternoon session to chase some #barra at #teemburradam, he landed 2 from 3 and his mate Matt lost 1 to the submerged timber .

01.01.2022 Had to postpone a booking for salt water guiding due to strong winds and rain for Monday Tuesday, so went to the lake in the early hours to have some more tease and switch fun , again the @lively_lures #ziggysd110 was the tease weapon , get the boof then rip the lure away if they don't get it and quickly present the #gamechanger #fly , it has to be fast and accurate which isn't easy in total darkness, get it right you get the eat getting the boof from barra in total darkness and the still of night is an awesome sound , I live for it

01.01.2022 @rapalaaustralia X Rap Peto 14 getting the bite , good body roll and tail beat , upgraded hooks as is needed with nearly all imported lures and barra and that sometimes still isn't good enough , anyone that says dam barra don't fight hard hasn't fished #teemburradam and many would agree on that
