We have over 3,500 people registered as "Interested" or "Going" to this event BUT it is not reflected in ticket sales. Events like this take a lot of organisation and coordination - we need to ensure we have the right numbers for water safety and food. The event is NOT designed as a spectator event - especially due to the limited parking around Eimeo (it is a small village). Our event is des...igned as a community, family, team building event where you float/ paddle / kick around a short course. As one of our organisers says, if you win you cheated. We like to think about the event as the biggest non race of the Mackay sporting calendar. There is even a prize for last! All entries include a BBQ lunch (only food available at the event) aside for the Bacon and Egg rolls for breakfast (purchase on day and drinks) - we will be catering numbers based on tickets sold. Lunch is only available to ticket holders. We have had a lot of questions about "spectating". As mentioned above spectating is only really available to family members of registered floaters. 03.01.2022 Guess what? We have special approval to have a Nippers Inflatable Boat Race this year for Eimeo SLSC members. So how does it work? The race will happen before the Junior race. U8 to U14 can race by themselves or with fellow clubbies. Orange and Green caps can participate too - just need a parent to be in the water with them at all times. Pretty good reason to get your pool proficiency done early. How fun will this be!... Buy a kids ticket and select Yes to Nippers. $10 including lunch.
