25.01.2022 School is back! We look forward to welcoming all our students with classrooms open from 8:15 tomorrow. Remember all students must have a water bottle and a hat at school every day.

22.01.2022 A reminder that tomorrow students can come dressed as their favourite occupation for a gold coin donation. Money raised will go towards thank you gifts for our local essential workers.

21.01.2022 This morning, Mackay North State School took time out of their day to say thanks to the QFES team for their support and dedication to the local community. How lucky are we that a card and treats were delivered by the school captains themselves?! It certainly made our day!

19.01.2022 Only 4 sleeps to go till Year 5 camp. Some things to know: - Arrive at school by 8:30 on Tuesday - All medication (including pain relief, vitamins etc...) MUST have a doctors label with correct information - Sun safe clothes are essential... - Must wear joggers - Students must bring morning tea, lunch, water bottle and sunscreen for the first day - Name everything We look forward to seeing everyone organised and ready on Tuesday morning.

14.01.2022 Our small hall unfortunately does not allow us to have enough room whilst following the COVID guidelines around number of adults per square metre inside, for parents to be able to attend parade at this stage. we will continue to put our parade on our Facebook page. While parents and carers are welcome on site, we do ask that you only come onto the school grounds if you need to see a teacher or come to the office. Please wait at the gate in the afternoon and meet your child there. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this COVID normal period.

13.01.2022 It’s here!! Let’s show our support for the Dominos North Mackay fundraiser this week. $1 from every pizza (excluding the value range) donated to our school.

10.01.2022 This week our student council held a free dress day SUPPORT OUR CITY - a tribute to the local businesses and workers for all their efforts during these challenging times. We raised $300 that we can now spend at local businesses to buy thank you gifts to give to local essential workers. What great community spirit from everyone!!

09.01.2022 Parents on school sites Parents and carers are welcome on school sites. Parents' and carers' contact details are recorded in OneSchool and can be used for contact tracing by Queensland Health if needed. At Mackay North we require all adults entering the school grounds to sign in before attending to your on-site business. This is for health and safety and to ensure we have an accurate record of all adults who were on-site on any given day. We thank you in advance for adhering... to this. All parents and carers can sign in and out using the Sign In and Sign Out Safe Visit QR codes at all gates and outside of rooms or by signing in and out at the front office if preferred. All other visitors need to adhere to COVID school visitor and sign in arrangements which require you to sign in and out at the front office. 'COVID normal' health practices apply to all adults on school sites. These include physical distancing between adults, not exceeding occupant density limits for rooms, staying home if sick and regular COVID-safe hygiene measures. We respectfully ask that you remain off our school site unless you have reason to enter.
