21.01.2022 Good morning Mackay parkrunners. We have some exciting news... No, we don’t have a return date yet, but it’s just as exciting. We have new Event Directors. We’d like to introduce new co-EDs, Christine and Michael. Outgoing ED Anthony is excited to be handing over to such awesome volunteers. We look forward to parkruns return soon and welcoming our new EDs.
19.01.2022 Mackay parkrun returns tomorrow! Over the past week we have been bringing you changes you can expect to see at our upcoming events. The most significant and important process change is the QR Code sign in for contact tracing purposes (only). Simply open your "Camera" app on your smartphone, hover over the barcode to open up the internet form that pops up on your device. It should look like the second image attached to this post. Fill in the blanks and Submit The QR code wil...l be displayed on this Facebook page, our website and at our weekly events. This can be done before, during or after the attended event. We encourage you all to complete this on a weekly participating basis, your cooperation is very much appreciated! #mackayparkrun #parkrunfamily #onemoresleep #seeyoutomorrow
18.01.2022 What kind of runner are you. (from Colin). Missing our Saturday mornings together. https://www.facebook.com/119964883132513/posts/128622475600087/
15.01.2022 Hey parkrunners One of the most important rules of parkrun is: No printed barcode, no result, no exceptions. One of the reasons for this is to ensure that ICE (In Case of Emergency) information is readily available when needed. ICE information on a mobile or watch cannot be accessed by our event team in an emergency. So we ask all our parkrunners: 1. Please register at: https://www.parkrun.com.au/register/ 2. Please keep your ICE information up to date.... 3. Bring a printed barcode to parkrun every week (you can find this in your parkrun profile) or invest in one of the excellent barcode tags or flatbands available at https://parkrun-shop.com.au/ 4. Please be kind to our volunteers. When you’ve been told that they can’t scan your phone or watch, please respect them. Just come back next week with your printed barcode. We’re here every week for you Mackay parkrun Event Team
14.01.2022 Be sure to join us for our last event tomorrow before (over indulging on) Christmas Day! Feel free to dress up in your best (or worst) Christmas attire and join us, same time, same place! If you are on the road for the ho ho holidays be sure to pack your barcode and catch a parkrun near you! ... #mackayparkrun #foodcomaprep #event203
09.01.2022 With Mackay parkrun now less than a week away, we will be bringing you a series of (required) changes that are to be implemented to ensure we can continue to run events across QLD. The fifth change that will take effect involves finish tokens and barcodes. Our volunteer barcode scanners will not be handling either of these, it will be left up to the participant to hold the barcode and token (in that order) in view for the barcode scanner to complete. Each barcode scanner wil...l have a container for you to place your token into once scanned. There will be extra volunteers to ensure that we can process this efficiently. Also, we still can’t scan barcodes on your phone, only printed barcodes, wristbands and key tags will be accepted (as per all previous events). So use the next couple of days to find your barcodes or print new ones As always, no barcode, no time! #mackayparkrun #3sleepstogo

03.01.2022 With Mackay parkrun now just 2 sleeps away, we continue to bring you a series of (required) changes that are to be implemented to ensure we can continue to run events across QLD. The sixth change that will take effect surrounds our beloved milestones. Milestones generally won’t be mentioned during the run brief like they used to largely due to allowed time constraints. We will continue to do our best to highlight and acknowledge these occasions whilst running under the Covid... Framework. So, if you are celebrating a milestone or know somebody who is please make yourself/them known to a Run Director before or after the event. Mackay parkrun will return with its own milestone, Event #200! #mackayparkrun #2sleepstogo #milestones #halloffame #sayhello #event200
