24.01.2022 The Mackay Show Association is once again looking to employ 12 trainee employees. The 12 successful Trainees on completion will receive certificate 1 in Construction and will gain valuable employment skills while working on a unique Project at the Mackay Show Precinct. Please note these positions commence on 19th October, 2020. This program is proudly funded and supported by the Queensland Government through its Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative. The participants wi...ll learn basic construction skills, using manual and power tools, working in a team and improving communication skills. Additional skills obtained will include, WH&S and basic horticulture. Successful candidates need to be able to work outdoors. Previous experience is not required. This position will suit people who are looking for work and to gain new skills. Candidates in the following groups are encouraged to apply- 1/ young people (15-24) 2/ women reentering the workforce (mature age 45 yrs) 3/ disadvantaged job seekers (mature age 45 yrs) This position is 38hrs per week for 18 weeks.
