24.01.2022 If they ever bring this out, it has to be a winner.

23.01.2022 Check out these four rough heads..! Roughest is at the front. The photo is from 18th June, 2014 at smoko time (11.04am to be exact). Taken back in the Leighton's days when Maule's Creek Coal and the railway lines were being built. Big Bot is in WA, Griff is in Qld working with MACK, Bear plays with farmers now and Matt still plays at Planet MEX.

22.01.2022 With the addition of a third 972M loader at the quarry. we now have The Three Stooges; which probably describes the operators too..!

19.01.2022 One can only hope. Brains seem to have been missing in action these last few weeks having seen the supermarket activities of a so called civilised society.

19.01.2022 Given all that's gone on so far this year, it's a brave person who decides to go out and start a new business. And, while this business is not exactly in the arena we play in, given the family connection we wanted to help give Andrea a kick start to her business venture. If you're looking for a hairdresser with a great skill set, who is a genuinely nice person and has a salon with a warm environment, check out Soul Hair Studio in Barber Street, Gunnedah. 19.01.2022 A big thank you to all those who have served and all those still serving that allow us the freedom and lifestyle that we enjoy today. Lets We Forget

19.01.2022 Houdini dog is back..!

18.01.2022 Believe it or not we have a licensed truck mechanic, a heavy diesel fitter and two apprentice mechanics but I think they have been gazumped by one of our truck drivers for ingenuity. This is a modification made to our pressure cleaner to keep the choke flap open and to get it to run. ..! Mick and Matt have nothing on this level of improvisation and I reckon even Bear would be impressed.

15.01.2022 Our version of a hazard reduction back burn; self isolation style.

14.01.2022 The D9 is the latest addition to our quarry plant lineup. It'll go to work straight away moving overburden & getting things ready for our next blast. With the Narrabri to North Star section of Inland Rail just around the corner, we reckon it'll be kept pretty busy.

14.01.2022 Saw this post - thought it was pretty accurate Here are the current findings in a short summary. Thanks to media misinformation: The Rules:...Continue reading

14.01.2022 Sounds about right..! Certainly appropriate for our workshop.

14.01.2022 39.4mm of rain at our quarry so far. Let's hope it keeps coming.

13.01.2022 We have an aspiring auto electrician amongst our ranks who likes to rewire almost everything. So we've ordered him a couple of pallets of this 'cause we reckon it will be his equivalent of WD40. No wiring is any good if you let the smoke out so to have a plentiful supply of replacement smoke will be critical to successful outcomes. Toby Morris

13.01.2022 Desperate times call for desperate measures and so we've had to put this old dinosaur back to work... As well as the digger too..!

09.01.2022 This was the newspaper advert in yesterdays Gunnedah Times about our proposed resource recovery facility project. The facility will divert reclaimable resources from going to landfill by recycling them for reuse. We believe that it's a great development for Gunnedah that will open up employment opportunities for members of our community and have positive impacts on the environment. This will be a purpose built facility that could divert as much as 187,500 tonnes of recyclable materials from going to landfill. We are doing community consultation meetings next week if you'd like to find out more or you can contact us direct on 6742 4222. Times and dates for the meetings are at the bottom of the newspaper ad.

09.01.2022 Another blast from the past and back in the Leighton's days. The date is 17th Dec, 2013 and apparently when planking was all the go and Chook had nothing better to do. Talk about a highly skilled workforce..!

09.01.2022 Can't believe its been over 2 years since we lost this larger than life figure. Mick was as much a part of the MEX family as anyone could be. My challenge had always been to catch him with a shovel in his hand as he reckoned the only shovel he would use was one that had a CAT key in it. Getting the shovel out of his hands before I could get this shot was probably the fastest I ever saw him move. There's not too many days where you don't come up in conversation Mick. Rest easy big buddy.

09.01.2022 So if we have a baby boom in 9 months time after all this self isolation, will they be known as the 'Coronials'..? (a contribution to the hysteria by one of our fitters)

08.01.2022 Remembering Mick; left us 3 years ago today. A sad day for all MEX-icans.

03.01.2022 Now there's a possible solution for Virgin.

02.01.2022 More evidence that the weather gods have gone crazy. This is the report from our quarry weather station for Monday night. The bottom line says it all... 69.2mm of rain..!
