05.01.2022 With the Cricket season approaching (in whatever form it turns out to be) the committee would like to update you all on some of the goings on and provide you with our very own brief Machine road-map. Check out the graphic for the key dates if all goes to plan in Victoria over the next couple of months. Behind the scenes we want to assure you that the committee is working hard to make sure that the club is organised and up to date with all the information provided to us by SEC...A and Cricket Victoria. We are still waiting patiently to see what happens with the current lock-down and what that means for our season. We still have no news about a fixture of any kind, only the dates you can see here as guides. We will continue to update you when we have more news and definitely as soon as we have confirmed dates. There will also be lots of information to take in about how to be CovidSafe when training and playing. Mackie will ensure that we adapt to any guidelines and rules that need to be followed to keep our community safe. We keep hearing we are all in this together, however at Mackie, we are there for you and want to support all present and past players. Stay safe and we look forward to seeing everyone at the home of cricket as soon as we are allowed. The Mackie Committee
03.01.2022 As you may be aware, council election posters are appearing around Glen Eira. Our ward, of the Mackie Cricket Club, is Tucker Ward. There has only been one Tucker Ward councillor who has shown visible support for our Mackie Cricket Club Jim Magee. Jim attended and spoke at our new electronic scoreboard opening last year, pictured above. The other two Tucker Ward councillors did not attend. Jim Magee supports the Mackie Cricket Club and has a history of supporting Tucker War...d. Many of you will remember that it was Jim that actively campaigned and succeeded in having the Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC) project relocated from Carnegie (Rosstown Ward) to its current location on East Boundary Road (Tucker Ward), among his many other projects. Jim is actively planning to redevelop and improve our Mackie Road Reserve with a masterplan, pictured at the bottom. As said, there are three current councillors in Tucker Ward. Jim Magee is the only one who actively supports us. The Mackie Cricket Club wants you, as our member, to vote for these three Tucker Ward candidates, who will support the redevelopment of Mackie Road Reserve to our benefit. Vote 1: Jim Magee (residing councillor) Vote 2: Li Zhang Vote 3: Declan Martin This is the Mackie Masterplan article on Jim’s Facebook site.
03.01.2022 Hi all, After consultation with our Shield Clubs (Longmuir, Woolnough and Quiney), they have voted that our top three Grades will consist of 14 One Day Home an...d Away Games and a three week One Day game Final Series. This means ALL Grades in SECA for the 2020/2021 season will only play One Day games. We are planning on starting the season on November 14 for our Shield Grades and Standard Overs Grades only. The rest of the competitions are planned on starting on November 21. We will get the fixtures out ASAP once discussions are complete re grounds allocation with the Eight Councils we work with. Regards Mark Rainey SECA Fixturing Chairman
