23.01.2022 We look forward to welcoming our Acting Principal for Semester 1 2021, Mr Peter Moloney. Mr Moloney joins us from the Toowoomba Diocese with a wealth of experience. He was Principal of Assumption College, Warwick, for 12 years, and has also served as Acting Principal at several other schools throughout that region.

23.01.2022 The MacKillop Saints are looking forward to getting the new sporting year started. See you soon!

20.01.2022 Today is the Feast Day of Our Lady Help of Christians, patroness of both our local parish and of Australia. This day is particularly significant in 2021 as we celebrate 200 years of Catholic Education in Australia. Today, Catholic school across the country, including us, are holding a mass in recognition of this occasion.

20.01.2022 We did really well at PARRS Volleyball recently - One of the senior boys team made it into the grand final and finished second. The senior girls stepped up to form an additional girls team as another school pulled out, and finished fourth. A big thank you to Mr Butcher for coordinating the MacKillop teams.

18.01.2022 Hope everyone is enjoying your final few weeks of holidays. Remember the first day back for students is Wednesday 3rd February. UPDATE: Opening Mass has been moved to 9:30am on Tuesday 9th of February. This is so the Bishop will be able to attend.

16.01.2022 Athletics is back! After essentially being unable to go ahead in 2020, we are looking forward to the excitement of the 2021 Athletics Carnival coming up in Week 8. Don't forget your hat.

13.01.2022 With construction of the new VET centre currently going on around the usual student parking area, here is the alternate parking plan: Student drivers will be given the front section of the bitumen staff car park. No parking around the construction zone, in the parent drop-off zone, or in the council car parks near the 16 Mile. Staff parking will be in the bitumen parking space closest to the front basketball court and also up behind near D Block, where works are happening to make this area more drivable, and a new road is being put in to avoid access from the main road. Protective safety fences will be put up and this area will be strictly off limits at lunch time and before/after school.

12.01.2022 Last day of school! Please note that the first day of Term 1 2021 will be on Wednesday the 3rd of February (not Friday the 29th January as was on some previous calendars)

11.01.2022 Slight change for bus route 108 - now leaving 5 minutes earlier in morning.

08.01.2022 We just held our Christmas liturgy, our final whole-College event for 2020. No doubt every local resident within several km of the College enjoyed our students' enthusiastic Christmas carol renditions. During this liturgy it was our pleasure to present 24 baskets of donated goods from students to Mrs Gurr from St Vinnies Palmerston, which will assist families in our community over the Christmas season. We also presented awards to the MacKillop Dash winners - congratulations Sabina Dalzell and Jeremy Fleming, the fastest female and male for this year. Topping everything off, the year 10s surprised Mr Nate Jackson by singing him happy birthday. Happy birthday Mr Jackson!

07.01.2022 More than 250 local sport, cultural, drama and musical providers are part of the Territory Government’s Sport Voucher program. The vouchers are available to every child enrolled in school from preschool to year 12, including home-schooled children. Under the voucher scheme three programs are supported:... Urban sport vouchers - Families with children enrolled in urban schools are entitled to a $100 sport voucher each semester to help with the cost of their child participating in a chosen sport, active recreation or cultural activity. Remote sport vouchers - Under the remote program, regional councils or Aboriginal corporations undertake remote community consultation to identify activity preferences. The NT Government then funds registered activity providers to deliver the programs to remote communities. Learn-to- swim - Provides children aged 0 to 5 years who are not enrolled in preschool or school with two $100 vouchers each semester to assist in reducing the cost of participating in water safety programs. For more information on the scheme visit www.sportvoucher.nt.gov.au/apply.
