24.01.2022 We are very excited to be holding our 2021 Year 7 Orientation Day this coming Monday, November 30. We ask that our incoming Year 7 families ensure that their sons and daughters arrive at the College by 8.45a.m. ready for a fun-filled day. We have some awesome activities planned. 17.01.2022 Feast of Our Lady Help of Christians - celebrating 200 Years of Catholic Education | This morning representatives from Year 8 Theology and Spirituality classes joined Mr Hill and Mrs Wolffe to attend a celebration Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral. We were delighted to represent the College at this important Feast with the celebration of Mass by His Grace, Archbishop Julian Porteous. Our Year 8 students were fine representatives for MacKillop College.

16.01.2022 Another year of outstanding performances in the Tasmanian Japanese Speech Contest from the MacKillop College team. Working with these students as they prepared, learnt and rehearsed and then recorded their speeches was a pleasure. We congratulate all for their willingness to challenge themselves and extend their learning beyond the classroom walls. An inspiring example to us all of being both engaged and your best. 14.01.2022 Well done to our Year 7/8 Cricket Boys who made the SSATIS Final today against St Virgil’s. Runners Up with the majority of the team Year 7 is a super effort. We look forward to seeing what this young crew can do in their future years at the College. Big thanks to Mr Blackburn & all the parents who supported this crew across the roster.

06.01.2022 Week 3 Learning Wrap Up | What an amazing week of learning at MacKillop! Our MacKillop students have been engaged in active learning both in and outside the classroom. A highlight of the week, the Year 8 HASS excursions. Fantastic fieldwork developing student geographical skills.

03.01.2022 Congratulations to Sophie Newett (Year 10) who successfully auditioned for Brent Street Academy - Performing Arts and Academic Program (Years 7-12). In 2022, Sophie will join some of Australia's most gifted performers to complete her schooling while continuing her performing arts training.

02.01.2022 Week 4 Learning Wrap Up | Wandering around the school this week and our students are engaged in their learning. The academic engagement was excelling. Walking through our fantastic facilities I came across a science class engaged in higher process thinking around Plate Tectonics; a creative thinking class posing design solutions and a Year 7 HASS class investigating the ancient past. MacKillop students excelling in their learning!

01.01.2022 It is always fantastic to see MacKillop old scholars achieving success through hard work and talent. Congratulations to Josh Williams (2015), Lauren Buck (2016), Maggie Rogers (2015) and Jake Percey (2015). These students are well respected and renowned in Dance in Hobart and further afield.

01.01.2022 AFL9s Trials THIS WEEK ... We are sending 4 representative teams to the AFL9s School Competition on Friday 18 June. 7/8 Boys, 7/8 Girls, 9/10 Boys & 9/10 Girls.... Due to a limit on numbers we will run trials to finalise our teams this week. Students must attend the trial on the top oval at lunch time on the following days if they wish to be considered. BOYS TRIAL: Tuesday 25 May GIRLS TRIAL: Thursday 27 May Mr Davey & Mr Di Ienno will meet students on the oval on these days. Please bring appropriate gear/footwear to change into & you can remain in this gear for Period 5 & 6. Thank you
