Every event this year has been affected by COVID, including the ride but this didn't stop our team getting involved. 08.01.2022 Just in case you were wondering, we have photo proof that Macmahon | GBF's Ross Graham took the plunge along with the rest of his 'boot hangers' team for the QV1 Descent last month! Ross and the team surpassed their original fundraising goal of $6000 to raise a huge $6574 for Spectrum Space. If that wasn't enough, Ross took a group from Spectrum Space on a river cruise following the event to celebrate and enjoy the day’s achievements. Well done Ross!

07.01.2022 Moving heavy mining machinery from one mine site to another is no easy feat. S&S Haulage recently captured some footage of such a move on behalf of Macmahon. We relocated our Liebherr R9350 excavator from the Poitrel Mine in Coppabella QLD over to Byerwen Mine, Newlands QLD. The excavator, weighing more than 302 tonnes fully assembled, was stripped of a lot of this weight for transport purposes it weighed 160 tonnes during the move. It took the good part of an entire day ...to travel the 250 km from Poitrel to Byerwen with many roads blocked off and a police escort along with three pilots. Measuring more than 37m with one prime mover, during the transport two block trucks were required to support the additional weight and increase traction on the incline of some roads. With the additional prime movers and the 12 line platform, the trucks and cargo measured more than 55m in length!

03.01.2022 The QV1 Descent 2020 is on again and GBF's Ross Graham and his bootcamp mates are taking the plunge down the QV1 building to raise funds for a not-for-profit close to their hearts, Autism West. 02.01.2022 Wellness, both physical and mental is a huge part of the Macmahon culture. Last month our staff took on a fitness challenge before the silly season set in. As teams of 5, they completed as many kilometres as possible in the month to collect the most amount of points. 1 point per km for walk, run, swim, row or airdyne and 1 point for every 10km on the bike. To keep it fair, teams provided evidence that they had completed their km’s, either by photo, map my walk/run or strava. As a competitive bunch, most people got involved but Team WAC Warriors came out on top with a total of 3,897.54 points and took home a bundle of prizes.
