24.01.2022 Besides vehicle collisions, we have found that the most common liability claim involves the mechanic leaving the sump plug loose. Anyone guess the second most common?

22.01.2022 'At a recent Grains Research Development Corporation farm business update, Mr Heinjus said calculating the total cost of ownership was a simple but vital tool for decision making. Total cost of ownership, he said, included depreciation, interest, insurance, registration, repairs and maintenance, fuel and labour.' http://www.queenslandcountrylife.com.au//weigh-up-total-/

19.01.2022 When solving problems, there is a massive and sometimes expensive difference between root cause, cause and resultant damage. Very rarely the cause cant be found, even in a 4 km blast radius.

18.01.2022 Interesting figures...and scary footage.

18.01.2022 Thoughts? Would you like the flexibility? Or perhaps to own your wheels?

18.01.2022 Well that's different!!

16.01.2022 A new year and yet this continues...

16.01.2022 Where is the logic in engaging people with no mechanical knowledge or qualifications to attend to matters involving engines or machinery? No real complaints....we get paid to clean up the messes.

10.01.2022 Um...no thank you - Brisbane traffic is bad enough!

10.01.2022 We see these liability claims so often, it is concerning.

09.01.2022 What do you get when you cross a Maserati and a flooded rail underpass in Melbourne?

09.01.2022 Wishing you a very Merry Christmas. If you're travelling - drive safe - get there and back safety.

07.01.2022 Would you put a $250,000 down payment on a car you wouldn't be able to drive for years? $50,000? Or $5k for a truck they won't even start building until 2019?

06.01.2022 Following on from our last post regarding engaging an expert, this covers the requirements of expert reports, how these reports can be used and other issues such as conflict of interest. http://macmecau.com.au/engaging-an-expert-part-2/

06.01.2022 We are noticing an increasing trend in which people are extremely unsatisfied with their Insurers when a claim is made. We welcome any comments on a good claim experience.

04.01.2022 If you have a complicated matter that looks like going before a tribunal such as QCAT you may consider engaging an expert to provide a written report or even supply expert evidence in support of your case. http://macmecau.com.au/engaging-a-mechanical-expert/

03.01.2022 Yet more clients that have had their trusted mechanic/repairer perform faulty workmanship. YES the repairer is liable for the lost income and reinstatement when the repair fails shortly after the repair is carried out. One matter was 6,000 kms after, but once we investigated, it was very clear it was the repairers fault. And yes the repairer lied to our client in efforts to avoid fixing the damage. If unsure, just call us. This does apply to vehicles, machinery and equipment.
