13.01.2022 Very sad to report on the passing of a second FFM firefighter. This evening it has been confirmed that a firefighter has lost their life working on a fire in th...e Omeo area. Our thoughts and condolences are with their family and friends. Every firefighter tonight will all feel the pain of losing yet a member of our firefighting family. This has been a very tough season across Australia, we have lost far too many lives, and it's only January. Rest In Peace. See more

12.01.2022 In our travels recently throughout the District, we've noticed a lot of hay currently being cut. With hay season upon us and hay cutting already commenced in so...me areas, it is timely to ensure when cutting your crop for hay, the correct moisture content is reached before baling to reduce future risk of haystack fires. The VFF have developed some handy tips for pre-baling as well as safety measures for post baling storage. #Checkyourmoisturecontent #Balesforfeednotfire #CFADistrict20 For more information visit: www.vff.org.au/

07.01.2022 The Police Association of Victoria has confirmed that this evening, the lives of four Victoria Police officers have heartbreakingly been cut short. Our thoughts are with all of the emergency services involved and their families at this devastating time.

07.01.2022 Today we remember those that lost their lives, their homes, their properties, their loved ones, and their animals, and gratefully thank all those who worked tir...elessly to bring an end to the devastation on that day, and in the immensely difficult days that followed. The people, communities and landscapes of Victoria were forever changed that day. We stand with those who with great hope and courage are still grieving and recovering, and acknowledge those who continue to work with affected individuals and communities. Together, we remember. Credit to Mount Macedon Volunteer Fire Brigade for the words.
