10.01.2022 We are beyond excited to have won Australia's Best Deluxe Accommodation at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards in Canberra on Friday night, for the second time in a row. What was particularly special was celebrating Tasmania with our fellow tourism operators, as we won a combined 17 medals! A huge congratulations to Port Arthur Historic Site, Tasmania, The Maria Island Walk, Roaring 40s Kayaking, MyState Bank Australian Wooden Boat Festival, ibis Styles Hobart and Ashdowns of Dover hosted B&B for their wins, and to all the other Tasmanian businesses who placed and were showcased on the national stage. We're so grateful for our vibrant, supportive, and collaborative industry. Even today as we face new challenges in our world, Tasmanian's continue to prove that we are bold, determined and humble in the face of adversity. The tale of Tasmania’s hearty and resilient Teddy Sheean has been shared for several generations and is a true example of the Tasmanian fighting spirit. It’s about to get a whole new chapter. His story truly is remarkable.

07.01.2022 MACq 01 is still open, but based on new government requirements to combat the spread of COVID-19, we've had to sadly close The Story Bar, Evolve Spirits Bar and Old Wharf Restaurant as of today. Our kitchen is open for room service only, and the gym is also unavailable. We look forward to slinging our signature cocktails and ramping up the restaurant as soon as we can. In the meantime, stay safe, follow guidelines, and support local. We'll get through this!

04.01.2022 Say hello to Mr. William's Year 4/5 class from Albuera Street Primary School They couldn't have excursions earlier this year, so the storytelling team at MACq 01 went out to visit them at school and shared stories of important Tasmanians from all walks of life. We left them with a copy of our 114 Doors book. The students were finally able to visit the storytellers this week! They had selected some of the characters featured in the 114 Doors book and conducted their own res...earch projects on the characters. These children are the storytellers of tomorrow x
