21.01.2022 FARMERS OFFER WATER FOR FREE A group of 45 local farmers say they'll happily work with Dubbo Regional Council to ensure water for critical human needs comes fir...st. The Mayor of Dubbo Ben Shields has said all irrigation should be ceased for the duration of the drought, including the use of ground water, to make more water available for residents. Claire Booth is a farmer near Geurie and said they've already offered to give their water allocations back to the Council. "Over the last 12 months, there's 45 family farms that are largely dependent on ground water surrounding the Dubbo area that have met and together have all agreed that the the supply of water for critical human need is an absolute priority," she said. "What we actually did last week was that we offered our water for free, I know we're going to be having some conversations in the next couple of days in relation to that, but we wanted to be able to show council that if we sit down together and map it out between a farmer and an engineer we can find a solution for everyone," Ms Booth added.

02.01.2022 COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT Council would like to remind residents that Level 3 water restrictions continue in accordance with the ‘odds and evens’ scheme for the to...wn of Narromine only. The ‘odds and evens’ scheme refers to house numbers and the date enabling residents to water every second day. If your house number is an even number, you are able to water on even dates e.g. 2nd, 4th, 6th of the month. If your house number is odd, you are able to water on odd dates, e.g. 1st, 3rd, 5th of the month. Winter watering times are between 7am and 10am and between 4pm and 7pm. No water restrictions are currently in place for Trangie or Tomingley. For more information visit Council's website www.narromine.nsw.gov.au/environment/water-restrictions See more
