25.01.2022 This is my power suit - I know it might be a bit loopy, but this is my go-to outfit for whenever I really want to feel confident and to kick some arse! Its just something small, but when I feel like I look great I feel myself straightening up my posture, smiling more often, and generally feeling like I can accomplish anything! Some people have confidence shoes, jewellery or jackets... and if you don't yet have an item or a whole outfit that makes you feel like you can take on the world, I'd recommend giving it a try and seeing if it makes a difference to your day!

24.01.2022 One of my posts last week reminded me of this beautiful tale... Picasso is sketching at a park. A woman walks by, recognises him, and begs for her portrait. Somehow, he agrees. A few minutes later, he hands her the sketch. She is elated, excited about how wonderfully it captures the very essence of her character, what beautiful work it is, and asks how much she owes him. 5000 francs, madam, says Picasso. The woman is incredulous, outraged, and asks how thats even possible given it only took him 5 minutes. Picasso looks up and, without missing a beat, says: No, madam, it took me my whole life. Value your creative work, people. It has taken you your whole life.

So today, I am going to sit down with a yearly planner and write some goals and then break those goals down into manageable steps. Ill also be setting a reminder to check in with my steps each month. Double-booking appointments, taking too long to reply to communications, forgetting you promised to retouch that pimple on the brides shoulder Its important to have systems in place to avoid these pitfalls and to make your life easier!... 17.01.2022 Setting a big goal can be super daunting! Whether its saving for a new camera (hello, Nikon Z6!), redesigning your website, or wanting to run a Christmas mini portrait promo, looking at the project as a whole can just about cripple any chance you have of achieving it. But New York wasnt built in a day, and your project wont be, either. So, break your project down into tiny steps. Each step needs to be manageable, achievable and written down.... If youre saving up for a big ticket item, you might start putting aside 10% of every booking fee into a separate account (or even a physical envelope). Redoing your website? Start generating the content youll need (text and photos) and start a Pinterest board to gather visual elements youre inspired by. If youre planning a promotion, you could grab a calendar and plan out critical dates for your marketing. The only way any of us ever succeeds is by setting goals and sticking to them, so start your Monday off right and break your big goals into smaller steps and start ticking items off your list!

We have to wear all the hats, and sometimes we can feel overwhelmed with no one else to pass the tough decision-making to. So today is a good opportunity to remind yourself every once in a while to physically relax your body. It’s just one step towards a less-stressed mind and better overall mental health.... Meditate, practice mindfulness, move your body a little more, and if you catch yourself with tense shoulders or a clenched jaw, consider this your prompt to relax them. Look after yourself, lovely. There’s only one of you and you deserve to treat yourself with kindness. See more

11.01.2022 Feeling stuck or uninspired? Photographers get writers block too, you know! Grab your laptop or notepad, and head to some place you havent been to before. It might be a new coffee shop, or somewhere in nature, but make it somewhere new. Foreign surroundings put our brains into a creative mode, because while it is passively absorbing all the new information it is also generating new pathways and linking different bits of information together. A change of scenery might be just the thing you need to generate your next great idea!
