24.01.2022 Article in last week’s land about Don’s Great Grandfather...

23.01.2022 Macwool is now on the gram! Follow @macwolly for thrilling updates about all things woolly

23.01.2022 Back in the wonderful Lindner sock shop & factory, getting our feet fitted out for winter. Andrew Lindner telling Don how positive they are feeling about an increased interest in buying Aussie made products. The quality of these merino socks manufactured right here in Crookwell is superb, the latest sock is this long fine local merino, especially popular with motor bikers with long boots. I bought some really thick ones for house socks...Don got beautiful soft fine business socks. Lindner are happy to do mail order.

22.01.2022 Even good value for some of the experienced old fellas to talk and listen to Brian

22.01.2022 AWI shearer trainer Brian Sullivan in action at Yarrawin, Brewarrina with four keen students. Great stuff.

15.01.2022 Important points around our trade relationship with China...

13.01.2022 Jason in action. If you’ve never been to a wool sale, please take the time to watch; the speed these auctioneers sell your wool is remarkable! The buyers must be on the ball.

13.01.2022 If you are old enough to remember, this is a good read on the ‘wide comb dispute’. Singularly responsible for my switch from wool sheds to wool brokering.

13.01.2022 Spare a thought for our Patagonian colleagues, I suppose when it melts they’ll have a good spring. Thanks Gregory Aldridge for the update

12.01.2022 Winter chills are here so Lamb Jumpers made from merino might come in very handy. If you need any please go to ‘Lamb jumpers Helping Farmers’ Facebook page; they still have lots to give away and more coming in all the time from the very kind knitting community. I understand they might even have a few lovely wool beanies for the people too, Tony Knight sporting one here. Thanks Marie Knight for photos and all your work co-ordinating this project.

09.01.2022 I couldn’t work out how to share the programme... so I took a screen shot, for those interested in watching parts that interest.

09.01.2022 Today is the Daily Telegraph Bush Summit being held in Cooma this year. You can watch it live on Sky Channel 604 or vis The Daily Telegraph website. Speakers incl the prime minister: Scott Morrison, Deputy PM Michael McCormack, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, opposition leaders Anthony Albanese to name a few. There’ll be other industry leaders as well as a panel of farmers. If you were involved in the inaugural Bush Summit in Dubbo last year you’ll be aware it was a very informative and interesting day and we ‘bushies’ ought to be involved and support an initiative that puts us at the foreground of debate and discussion around our livelihoods and lifestyle.

Tissue boxes-more than 1.6 million a week Pasta sauce still in short supply despite acquiring an extra 850 000 units this week! an extra 500 000 packets of Pasta acquired last week Thought you might be interested in the stock piling trends

03.01.2022 Big morning at Yennora, Jason Carmichael auctions the first Carmichael & Co catalogue.

21.12.2021 Don and I were very fortunate to have a friend who lives in the north of France, Antoine, who kindly guided us through the ANZAC memorials and war cemeteries in northern France and the very moving Menin Gate Memorial. Both of us had Great Uncles who died over there in WW1, we could visit my Uncle Arthur Johnson’s grave on the Somme but only the names of Don’s Uncles Thomas and Norman Creswick; killed 4 days apart at Messiness. Both memorialised but their lying place ‘known on...ly to god’. We were very impressed how the French maintain all those memorials, knowing the heartache it caused so many families that would never see their loved sons again nor would they even be able to see where they died and rest, it gave some comfort to know how much care they received and still do. Thank you France. Lest we Forget.

15.12.2021 Imprinting lambs with all the green feed easier than I thought .

07.12.2021 AWI shearer trainer Wayne Hosie showing how it’s done. Great discussion today between grower, contractor, trainers and myself about the solutions. Invaluable stuff.

01.12.2021 Good to see all 8 stands occupied at Turee Vale today, contractor Andy Duggan doing his bit with a couple of learners and AWI dollars being well spent with shearer trainer Wayne and shed hand trainer Penny there instructing. We have to go hard in this area.

19.11.2021 The attached article explains the unfinished business I have to do at AWI on behalf of Australian wool growers. Many of the priorities I have can be addressed effectively if AWI can continue to improve its engagement and collaboration with all key stakeholders. Your support in voting will be appreciated. Around half of shareholders AGM papers were emailed and mailed 12th October. If you have not received them you can call the Link Market Services help line 1300 554 474 make sure you have your AWI SRN number.

06.11.2021 AWI Election newsDon has received quite a number of calls from growers saying they are yet to receive their voting papers in the mail. The mail went out on October 12. Some growers will have received their voting papers via EMAIL, please check your emails (incl spam) for OCTOBER 12.... If you still have not received your papers by mail or email by mid next week feel free to call Don on 0438 638 654

01.11.2021 Brian Seears from our Cooma store was busy at Hazeldean sale Cooma among consistently strong competition .

24.10.2021 A bit of a sad day at the final Grogansworth Ram sale, but a great result for the Henderson’s with $15000 top price Ram purchased by Pemcaw Stud Dunedoo.

04.10.2021 Great to see some momentum building for the defence of our fibre.

24.09.2021 Shearing almost completed at Inverella, Brewarrina. Don spent some time classing and it was great to have AWI shed hand trainer Penny Clout there for a day fine tuning things. Great job done by The Kyle Brown team from just up the road at Weilmoringle.
