08.01.2022 Yesterday I dropped in to Mad About Plants Pty Ltd for a tour of their commercial nursery with owner Darryl Madder. Mad About Plants was one of 10 Far North Que...ensland businesses and farmers who were able to secure additional water as a result of the Queensland Government’s first live auction of unallocated water (1,200 megalitres from the Mulgrave-Russell management area). Since securing additional water, the business is already planning to expand their operations and recruit additional staff. Mad About Plants is the largest wholesale nursery in the north, stocking a wide variety of plants from seedlings to mature trees and plants with sales available direct to the public, by appointment. 05.01.2022 How's this for an awesome indoor plant? Xanthosoma Frozen Planet. Has a large dark green leaf with black veins on the back. The stems are dark purple/black and covered in a 'frosty' silver film, hence the name. They flourish in filtered light - inside in a pot, on a work desk or under a mango tree. Keep them moist but not wet. Fabulous for enhancing air quality.
