11.01.2022 Here’s a little something you may not know about Mad About Bows read on as we explain who these remarkable ladies pictured are and what they do. These wonderful ladies sew custom scrunchies for Mad About Bows. So here’s how it goes.... They use this income as payment for postage to send their packages to PNG. What do they sent to PNG?.... This sewing group is producing recyclable feminine hygiene kits for distribution in PNG to enable gi...rls to attend school and women to attend work, uninterrupted. The project was formed to help women and girls to better manage menstruation with dignity by supplying free kits with reusable feminine hygiene products to women in remote communities. These kits enable girls to attend school and women to attend work without interruption and obvious social disruption to them and their South Perth Senior Citizen’s Centre is where they meet weekly. There are also volunteers who sew at home. The volunteers make menstrual hygiene kits that provide sustainable feminine hygiene products for women and girls in Bougainville, PNG. The kits are easy to make and require only basic sewing skills. They include reusable feminine hygiene products, soap, wash cloth, underwear, a plastic bag and information on menstruation in a drawstring cotton carry bag. The washable hygiene products last up to three years and could also be used for incontinence. Requirements for the kit are specific Washed 100% cotton in printed dark and light patterns (not plain) Small cakes of soap, or subsidised suggestions Simple unused plain women’s underpants size 12, 14 and 16 Good quality unused flannelette 6 and 9 mm ribbon for drawstring Cottons Resealable medium-large plastic bags Wash cloths Funds to purchase waterproof lining, specific fastening studs, postage If you can help please Donate- Funds and/or components Contact: [email protected] or me [email protected] See more
