25.01.2022 Choosing paint colours can be a really hard decision to make. There are so many options with different undertones that can change depending on the time of day and the colours that surround it! In my colour consultations I will narrow the clients options down to a few options that I think would work nicely. From there I always suggest to get an old piece of ply wood or cardboard and paint two coats of the selected options next to each other. This way you can move the samples to different angles of the room to see what the colours look like at all times of the day. Let your home speak for itself. There will always be a colour that stands out from the others

24.01.2022 One of the parts of my job I feel most passionate about is custom furniture I just love creating bespoke pieces for my clients that suit their individual lifestyle. There is something so beautiful about the love, passion & skill that goes into custom furniture. Originally furniture was made with the purpose and quality to be able to pass it through to the many generations to come and that’s exactly why I love custom furniture yes custom furniture is slightly more expensive but for the lifetime of the product it is nothing!

24.01.2022 4 Tips to styling your coffee table - Divide your coffee table into sections: Whether that be a centre piece, divided in half or having 3-4 sections there is no right or wrong way. Take a look at your lifestyle and how you use the room. If this is your main living area that you use for entertaining it might work best for you to keep your coffee table dcor quite minimal to allow for food and drinks. Im sure we have all been in the situation where we clear the tabl...e and prepare for guests by throwing everything into the spare room or cupboard! Otherwise, if it is more of a sitting room you could quite easily have more decorative pieces on your coffee table but still have enough room for a cup of tea or glass of wine. - Asymmetry: Asymmetry always works so nicely on coffee tables even if you are more of a symmetric person with furniture placement. I think that asymmetry gives an effortless look and not like you are trying too hard to have everything perfectly matching. - Varying heights: Its always good to use objects of different heights to create visual interest. You want to draw the eye from piece to piece. You can do this by using stacked coffee table books, candles, trinkets and greenery. - Which leads me to the final point which is GREENERY! Whether you add foliage or fresh flowers having greenery on your coffee table will help to create a sense of calm. Adding greenery is also a great way to instantly change the look of your coffee table depending on the season, occasion or simply just needing a change. COMING SOON: Coffee table packages

The truth is... older antique furniture is always amazing quality that was usually made with love by a local family run furniture business many years ago. The secret to shopping second hand furniture is to know your materials and the shapes used in current furniture so that you can choose pieces that tie in with slightly more modern decorating styles. 16.01.2022 Shelf Styling... When styling a shelf I like to think of creating little sections of decor. I like to start with the whites and creams and then work in some black, brass or timber elements to add in a little more interest. A lot of people think this colour pallet is quite bland but personally I love it! I like to let art, cushions and floral arrangements do the talking, whilst your neutral decor stays quite understated... using this method makes your interior more adaptable to the different trends and styles.

16.01.2022 One of my favourite floor coverings to use is a chunky jute or sisal. I love the way these natural fibres give an instant warmth and texture to your space. Our jute and sisal rugs are completely custom to any size! I am finding that I am doing a lot of hall runners and stairs in these textures recently... they are great for adding a bit of interest to those narrow spaces without overwhelming it!

15.01.2022 What do you think of this black kitchen cabinetry? Im loving it! I tend to find that a lot of my clients are scared to use black (or dark colours) in their home as they are worried it will feel to dark... If youve got a big space with lots of natural light theres no need to worry, it will be a lovely contrast to your space! Theres lots of ways to bring the black to life such as greenery, white coffee table books, neutral vases/ urns and of course a fresh coat of white paint on the walls.

14.01.2022 I just had to share these beautiful pieces by the gorgeous @feliciaaroneyart Felicia draws inspiration from her European heritage, channeling the distressed and peeled paint facades of classical architecture. Each painting evokes a sense of history and antiquity mixed with all things Australian. I think what draws me to Felicias work the most is that we both share a love for taking inspiration from our Australian environment. Nature gives us so many beautiful colours and textures and there is something so harmonious about bringing them into our homes

14.01.2022 A foggy early morning start in Warrandyte yesterday for some pre lockdown consultations! I hope that everyone is keeping well and trying their best to stay positive as we enter into the next 6 weeks. We will be business as usual but will be working more remotely then usual where possible. If home visits are necessary for check measures or colour consultations we will keep them brief and will adhere to the social distancing rules.... Luckily a lot of the work within the interior design industry is done through online presentations, samples sent in the mail and communicating via phone or email. Im sure there will be lots of home changes being made during this time so please reach out if you need professional advice. 05.01.2022 How to choose the right white for your home: At first choosing a white for your home may seem simple, but then you realise how many different shades of white there is out there! The first 2 things I consider when choosing a white in my colour consultations is to:... 1. Take a look around the room that you are choosing the white for. Is there quite a lot of warm timber, jute or decor? Or is there more of the grey undertones? Figuring out if your home has warm or cool tones is the first step to finding a paint colour. 2. Take a look at the natural and artificial lighting in the room. Is your artificial lighting warm or cool? Does the room have much natural lighting? Once youve selected a few samples its best to paint a section on a piece of plywood and look at the whites throughout the day. Move the plywood from wall to wall and have a look at what it looks like from each direction. Colour can change dramatically! Not everyone has an eye for colour which is why I love assisting my clients with a colour consultation. Now a glass coffee table will be the finishing touch!... Some of this gorgeous collection was actually featured in the movie 'The Great Gatsby' which was directed by Catherine's husband Baz Luhrmann!
