24.01.2022 Thank you Terry Young MP!

23.01.2022 Today Maddy would have celebrated her 22nd Birthday with us. Instead we have all done our own thing to remember her Birthday, without her. When Maddy passed away from Sepsis at 18 years of age she had a boyfriend, a partner, someone that she was planning to live the rest of her life with. That man climbed Mt Coolum today to remember Maddy on her Birthday. Sepsis does not discriminate, it kills people of all ages, sexes, colours and social standing. The burden of loss and grief for the family and friends of those taken from us is far reaching. Thank you Callum for honouring Maddy, embracing life and helping us to raise Sepsis awareness. #MaddysGift #MaddyJonesFoundation #Sepsis #StopSepsis

23.01.2022 **** Our App connection Issue is now resolved ! **** Thank you to everyone that tuned in this morning and watched the interview on Weekend Sunrise where I told Maddy's story. Since the interview aired we have received several donations and many people have downloaded our app. Unfortunately, the timing of an outage with one of our service providers has meant that some people have experienced issues with the app. Technicians are working on this right now and we hope that it w...ill be corrected shortly. Watch this post for updates. Thank You!

22.01.2022 What a great initiative Jes, Thank you! The more awareness we can create for Sepsis, the more lives we can save around the world. We will be sharing your post with the followers of Maddy Jones Foundation. #Sepsis #StopSepsis #MaddysGift #MaddyJonesFoundation #WorldSepsisDay #aroundtheworldin13days

22.01.2022 Redcliffe Hospital invited Bobbie and I to their Staff BBQ where they featured Sepsis Awareness. Redcliffe Hospital is doing an amazing job implementing their Sepsis Pathway and the engagement from nursing staff and clinicians all the way through to their executive team made Bobbie and I feel very encouraged that Sepsis is getting the spotlight that it needs. Thank you Redcliffe! Keep up the great work. 21.01.2022 Maddys mum Danielle and friends climbed Mt Coolum today. This was one of Maddys favourite things to do. Remember that Sepsis is the main cause of death from Covid-19 and know the signs of sepsis. Download our app from the Apple or Google play stores, its free. Please, please, please, consult your local medical facilitiess Covid-19 guidelines when seeking medical advice. This may include phoning ahead. Our app enables you to email your symptom check to your doctor. Please consider this. If you have the signs of sepsis, seek medical attention early. Just ask, Could this be sepsis? #maddyjones #maddyjonesfoundation #sepsis #stopsepsis #maddysgift #covid19

19.01.2022 Three years ago today we lost Maddy to Sepsis. It seems like yesterday and an eternity at the same time. Sepsis takes lives, limbs and leaves people with ongoing issues for the rest of their life. Sepsis survivors include the families and friends of those affected. The impact is massive! Don’t be lighting candles for someone you have lost. Know the signs! Save a life! Sepsis Kills! #Sepsis #StopSepsis #MaddysGift #MaddyJonesFoundation www.maddyjonesfoundation.com.au/maddys-gift

18.01.2022 Feedback like this gives us strength but also makes us cry. "My neice had the Flu. She was in hospital and appeared to be crashing. Because of Maddy, I called my sister in law and told her to make the doctors do X-rays and do bloods. They were holding off on doing these basic things but once they did them they discovered she had pneumonia and administered antibiotics immediately. Now she is home and nearly recovered and I thank you and Maddy for your education in sepsis awareness." Sarah #Sepsis #StopSepsis #MaddysGift #maddyJonesFoundation

18.01.2022 In 2018 Lucy was taken from her family by Sepsis at 16 years of age. She was a beautiful, fit and healthy young woman. Through a Foundation in Lucy's name, and a mission to help raise awareness and fight Sepsis - The Lucy Ellis Foundation, Lucy's family and friends have worked hard to prevent such tragedies from affecting the lives of others. Today we remember Lucy Ellis. To Catherine, Sophie and Neil #MuchLove #Sepsis #StopSepsis #MaddysGift #MaddyJonesFoundation #LucyEllisFoundation

17.01.2022 Awareness blog page- www.jestuffield.com As a World Sepsis Day ambassador, Today I am launching my #Aroundtheworldin13days campaign. September 13th is #WorldSep...sisDay - that is why I will be setting my balloon off into cyber space, to reach as many people as we can, spread awareness far and wide. Instead of real balloons, which can cause harm to the environment and would never make it around the world, whereas a cyber balloon... it most definitely is possible with the power of the people! I want this message to reach as many people as we can for those whom we have lost, those that #sepsis has left physically and emotional scarred. For the mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, aunts, uncles, grandparents and grandchildren who have been affected. This video is not accompanied by any music and is just over two minutes long. This is a way of showing respect to those who have sadly passed away, for the families who have lost a loved one and a thought for those battling the affects Sepsis has left behind, everyday. 13 days to get this shared as much as we can Click the like button for this page to keep up to date with what I will be doing as a Ambassador for this incredible charity For every like or share - add someones name into the comments ( passed or survived ) feel free to add where in the world you are

17.01.2022 Today we attended a meeting organised by the Australian Sepsis Network to discuss the implementation of a National Sepsis Action Plan. It was great to connect with stakeholders from around the country, many of whom are already our close friends and allies in the quest to tackle Sepsis. The representatives from families affected by Sepsis got together for a Maddy's Gift and T for Thomas photo. Thank you guys! Let's get some action happening. #Sepsis #StopSepsis #MaddysGift #MaddyJonesFoundation #tforthomas

16.01.2022 Maddy died from Sepsis in 2017 after contracting the flu. According to the World Health Organisation, in 2017 there were 48.9 million cases and 11 million sepsis-related deaths worldwide, which accounted for almost 20% of all global deaths. In 2017, almost half of all global sepsis cases occurred among children, with an estimated 20 million cases and 2.9 million global deaths in children under five years of age. Although the COVID-19 Pandemic has taken the world health spotli...ght, don’t forget that the Flu can also kill. The Eatons Hill Discount Drug Store and Eatons Quality Medical & Skin Cancer Centre are again supporting the Maddy Jones Foundation by donating $1 from every Flu Vaccine to the foundation. Available in store now. Whether or not you choose to be vaccinated, please know the signs of Sepsis and seek medical attention as early as possible. #maddyjonesfoundation #sepsis #stopsepsis #maddysgift #eatonshillpharmacy #eatonsqualitymedical

15.01.2022 Thank you Wishlist for your beautiful gesture honouring Maddy but also for your work raising much needed funds for Sepsis research. 14.01.2022 We were very humbled this week to receive feedback from another family that has attributed the speedy recognition of Sepsis, and life saving treatment for their son, to our work. This young man's mother told Maddy Jones Foundation "I strongly believe that the education and message you delivered to the hospital saved his life". Sadly, the same hospital, along with other Queensland Hospitals, due to a lack of funding have dropped out of the life saving Sepsis Collaborative in...itiative that Queensland Health themselves initiated. I can only wonder whether our politicians and policy makers would take a different view if this was their son or daughter? In other countries, Sepsis protocols in hospitals have been mandated through legislation, brought about by the efforts of privately motivated individuals like us, that have suffered the loss of a loved one. It's time for Australia to step up, provide appropriate funding and supportive legislation. #Sepsis #StopSepsis #MaddysGift #MaddyJonesFoundation #StevenMiles

14.01.2022 I travelled to Rockhampton in Central Queensland, Australia today to tell Maddys Story at the Rockhampton Base Hospitals Sepsis Seminar. Rockhampton Hospital is part of the Queensland Statewide Sepsis Collaborative and are super engaged in both Sepsis awareness and providing the time critical diagnosis and care required for better outcomes for patients with Sepsis. I also had the privilege of meeting Georgia Osborne, a young lady that survived Sepsis through the combined ef...forts of many people, some of whom were here today, including her Mum, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and staff at the Rockhampton Hospital. To top the day off the Rocky Sepsis Team presented the Maddy Jones Foundation with a donation from funds raised at a recent staff event. Thanks for the invite and the helping hand Rocky. We really appreciate it. What a great team you have! #Sepsis #SepsisKills #MaddysGift #MaddyJonesFoundation #CQHealth #RockhamptonHospital

14.01.2022 Maddy's friends Lizzy & Chloe climbed Mt Coolum for Maddy's anniversary. Thank you guys! Mt Coolum is where Maddy struck this pose that later became our logo. Our supporters have sent us their Maddy's Gift photos from around the world. You can check out all of the Maddy's Gift photos in our website www.maddyjonesfoundation.com.au/maddys-gift... Go on! Send us your photo and we'll add it here too. You can share it with your friends and help us to spread Sepsis awareness. #maddyjonesfoundation #maddysgift #sepsis #stopsepsis

13.01.2022 Today is World Sepsis Day. A day that we try and raise the awareness of Sepsis globally. Meet my Daughter Maddy. Maddy Died from Sepsis in 2017. Maddy was a fit, healthy, beautiful 18 year old woman. Maddy died of Sepsis because the health system failed her and I was ignorant to Sepsis. Her death was preventable. I miss her every minute of every day. This can happen to you, your daughter, son, wife, husband, father, mother or loved one. Know the signs of Sepsis and jus...t ask "Could this be Sepsis". I wish I had. Sepsis Kills! Please forward this to your friends, family, doctor and politicians. Don't let this keep happening. More than 3 x as many people die from Sepsis in Australia annually than the national road toll. 10.01.2022 Our 2019 Maddy Jones Foundation Sepsis Awareness Flu Vaccination Campaign, in conjunction with the Eatons Hill Discount Drug Store and Eatons Quality Medical & Skin Cancer practice, has been a great success. Many thanks to Pharmacist Matthew Low & Dr. Peyman Mira who donated $2 from each flu vaccine to raising Sepsis awareness. Through your support you have helped to raise sepsis awareness in our community and ultimately save lives. Your ongoing support and contribution to t...he Maddy Jones Foundation and the community is greatly appreciated. Many thanks also to those that purchased vaccinations. The only reason our campaign has ended so early in the Flu season is, we have sold out! Whether or not you are vaccinated, knowing the Signs of Sepsis may save your life or the life of someone you love. Know the signs and just ask Could this be Sepsis? #Sepsis #StopSepsis #MaddysGift #MaddyJonesFoundation #eatonsqualitymedical #eatonshillpharmacy

10.01.2022 Today Bobbie and I participated in day two of the Queensland Sepsis Collaborative Learning Sessions. Representatives from hospitals from all over Queensland met to discuss their learnings in implementing effective Sepsis screening and processes in our hospitals. Pictured are the consumer representatives who bravely share their stories of how Sepsis has changed their lives. Congratulations to all involved, what a great group of dedicated people. #Sepsis #StopSepsis #MaddysGift #MaddyJonesFoundation

10.01.2022 I challenge the QLD Health Minister Steven Miles that QLD is not ready to fight the Flu. How sad to read yet another tragic story of another life lost and neither our media or politicians mention Sepsis. Come on Courier Mail, you know what Sepsis is. Its not the Flu thats killing people its Sepsis. Australians need to know the signs of Sepsis and this will stop happening. How about we put it on the front page and avoid more people from dying of Sepsis, not waiting until its too late. Maybe the Health Minister would like me to tell him about Sepsis in an interview? #Sepsis #StopSepsis #couriermail #StevenMiles

09.01.2022 We are very pleased to announce the launch of our 'Could this be Sepsis' app in the Google Play Store. Sepsis can be triggered by any infection but commonly occurs in response to bacterial infections of the lungs, urinary tract or skin. It can occur in response to secondary bacterial infections that result from the flu or other viruses and can have 'flu like' symptoms. Knowing the signs of Sepsis can save your life or the life of someone that you love. "Could this be Sepsis"... can help you to identify the signs of Sepsis and remind you to check symptoms regularly. A big shout out to our sponsors and developers of the app, Melbourne-based digital development and creative agency, Silicon Stack. Their teams in Australia, Vietnam & India have collaborated to deliver this important initiative. In the app you can; Step through a series of questions that include the signs of Sepsis. View and email your symptom check answers. Learn more about Sepsis. Read about Maddy and make a donation to help us with Sepsis awareness. Could this be Sepsis is available in the Australian Google Play Store only. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details #Sepsis #StopSepsis #MaddysGift #MaddyJonesFoundation See more

07.01.2022 The Flight Attendants' Association of Australia (FAAA) have run a Sepsis awareness story in their 2019 Winter edition member newsletter the Silent Review. Assistant Secretary - Lou Nesci wrote the story after meeting with me and hearing Maddy's Story. Lou felt that, as they are often first responders, Flight Attendants should know about the signs of Sepsis. Lou was also concerned that he hadn't heard of Sepsis before and wanted to do something about it. Thank you Lou and the FAAA for helping us spread awareness. Sepsis Kills! #Sepsis #StopSepsis #MaddysGift #MaddyJonesFoundation #FAAAUnion #FlightAttendants

02.01.2022 Wishing everyone a happy, safe and joyful Christmas & New Year. See you again in 2020.

02.01.2022 We recently received a hand written letter from a lady who saw the program on 7’s Sunrise about Sepsis, including Maddy’s story. This lady is a 75 year old pensioner who had never heard of Sepsis. In an effort to contact us she went to a local business and asked them to see if they could find our postal address for her, as she doesn’t own a computer. She wrote us a hand written letter to offer her condolences and thanks for sharing Maddy’s story. I wrote back in the same way ...and posted a letter, something I haven’t done for a while. Today we received a second letter, including some of this lady’s own life story, a cheque for $150 and a pledge to send the same annually. We are very humbled and glad that not only do you now know about Sepsis but you have helped us to make others aware too. Thank you! #maddysgift #maddyjonesfoundation #sepsis #stopsepsis #Sunrise7

02.01.2022 Thank you Luregn and 3AW for getting the message about Sepsis into the minds of Australians. Other media outlets take note. Today we remember Lucy Ellis. To Catherine, Sophie and Neil #MuchLove #Sepsis #StopSepsis #MaddysGift #MaddyJonesFoundation #LucyEllisFoundation
