24.01.2022 I spent the day in the garden, mowing, weeding and cleaning the fountain and bird bath. Every morning the rosellas love to splash in the fountain and they're not too happy with me when I upset their daily routine. Later on they were back in the water having a great time. Even "Kev" the crocodile in the bird bath got a good scrub. Here are some shots from around the garden and the last photo is of a lemon showing how the possums like to eat the rind right off the lemons while they're still hanging on the tree.

23.01.2022 Twenty-five days of Christmas and twenty-five Christmas cards. As I was making them I was thinking about past Christmas' and wondering how this year will shape up. Hopefully families will all be together again and life will be peaceful and happy. If you would like any of the cards please contact me.

22.01.2022 The weather up here on the hill is still wet and cold, perfect card making weather. These are ones I did today. Sadly I'm fast running out of supplies and I wasn't prepared for a pandemic......but then who was? So I'll make a few more with what I've got, and maybe this year the Christmas cards will just have to be be without Santa (he got caught up in quarantine).

21.01.2022 The cards are up on l'ucellos website and are selling well. Hopefully one day I'll be selling them too. Meanwhile, if you see any here that you would like please contact me.

20.01.2022 A few more cards the last couple of days, celebrating girlie stuff and all things pretty..... The woman on the second card was my auntie. She was beautiful to look at but as I remember her, she was always laughing and had a very gentle nature. Gayle

19.01.2022 It seems like Winter still isn't finished with us and although I tried to do some gardening today the chill in the air affected the arthritis in my fingers....Aaah, the joys of getting older. So I played inside today.

16.01.2022 I want to thank everybody for their support in my card making efforts. I've been overwhelmed by the response to them lately. In a normal year I attend quite a few quilt shows and do the Monbulk market each month, but this year I got to one quilt show and one market. I seriously considered why I was making them, not seeing any point with everything cancelled. However your encouragement and people buying them from facebook has kept me going. Funny thing is, I've had some at m...y local post office (Olinda) for a while and had sold a few, but because of the lockdown and nobody travelling around the locals have discovered them and are buying heaps. I'm also told they appreciate that it is a local person making them. Quite a few Christmas cards have been sold so I've gone through them and only the ones in this post are available now. The cards are $8.00 each and I will ask you to pay the postage. As they are sold I will delete the photo. Thank you again for keeping me going with this and please contact me if there are any cards you'd like, Christmas or otherwise. Gayle See more

13.01.2022 Seems early to be putting up Christmas cards but if Coles and Woolies can have mince pies and Christmas cakes on sale I guess I can put these up. Two people have already contacted me and have bought some so these are the ones I have available right now. I intend to keep making some more this week (it's rainy so the garden will have to wait). Because I've not been able to get out and because I actually didn't intend to make many cards this year at all, I am just using stuff I already have so if you see a card that I've already sold I can try to make something similar but can't guarantee it will be the same. 11.01.2022 Today I signed up to be a volunteer working in the George Tindale Gardens when volunteers are allowed to get active again. It's not that our garden isn't big enough to keep me out of mischief but I like being involved in community work. During this unusual time we all feel very lucky up here to have so many lovely public gardens and parks around us as well as the forest.

11.01.2022 The hills are alive with the sound of.... kookaburras, magpies, the neighbours' peacocks and a particularly persistent mopoke owl that seemed to go on for hours in the middle of the night recently.

08.01.2022 Stage 4 lockdown observations: # when you're getting ready to go out (if you go out) you only have to put on eye makeup...saves on time and makeup. # people can still tell if you're smiling behind the mask (glad I put on that eye makeup). # creative meals come about when using whatever's left in the fridge to avoid going to the shops. # cutting your own hair makes for some interesting effects. Even Peter said "whoa what happened there?" when I came out of the bathroom yesterday morning. Thank goodness hair grows back (and hopefully before the lockdown ends).

07.01.2022 Lots of work happening in the garden and the pleasance is looking good at the moment. But I had an inside rest day today so tackled tidying my desk and made a few cards along the way.

04.01.2022 An inside day today...a bit too much gardening yesterday I think...but out there again tomorrow.
