23.01.2022 New arrivals from the wonderful @pubtextiles X @babbarradesigns The Vanessa Dress from the "Saltwater to Freshwater" collection, featuring Lorrkkron design by Susan Marawarr. The Lorrkkon or hollow-log coffin ceremony is the final ceremony in a sequence of mortuary rituals celebrated by the people of Arnhem Land. Many artists depict this ceremony their designs as it has deep spiritual significance in the community as a last step in celebrating, remembering, dreaming co...nveying understanding of life cycles and spiritual passage. Our longtime friends, Im talking back to Paddington Market days, @pubtextiles have just released their new collection Saltwater to Freshwater from Babbarra Womens Centre. This collection of designs depicts the deep ancestral knowledge passed from generation to generation, informing a rich understanding of the topography and inner worlds of the people who inhabit t...he land of the Maningrida region. For the @babbarradesigns artists the natural cycle of seasons are intertwined with storytelling and ceremony.The artists explain their world to us, illustrating how everything is interconnected - saltwater, freshwater and the stones in between. Zekahalia Yibarbuk, pictured, wears the Brigette Skirt in Man-Kurndalh in Tencel Linen. Man-kurndalh (black plum) are a much loved manme (bush food). 21.01.2022 Pass the Pasta is now live online! Quite possibly my most favourite range of the year and certainly in my top 5 of all time I think. My personal love of pasta comes from my background, the smell in my Nonnas kitchen, & it being the ONLY food I put in front of my kids and they actually eat it (pizza wins as well!). I remember during lockdown when there were restrictions on pasta buying and I must admit I had a moment of panic! Luckily, I know some people and we were able to secure a 5kg bag . I love that pasta is the ultimate comfort food and my golly it can be just so tasty! Now to work out what is for dinner, Im hungry! Covid forced us to think creatively about how to keep our brand moving forward, we moved from our Newtown location to a huge space in Marrickville and our team has expanded and grown. After all these changes and challenges we knew it was time for a brand refresh and we wanted to create a new logo that captured a few things. 18.01.2022 Okay so we’ve worked out there are a lot of cord lovers out there in the Made590 world. Our most recent Strike a Cord Paige Skirts didn’t last a week so for today’s #made590futurefriday we are saying a quick hello to our new cord Rayna pini! Corduroy is the perfect wintery fabric, all cosy & soft as well as being 100% cotton. The cord feels luxe, is the perfect drape in the skirt but also nice & structured to get the perfect pini shape. Lots of people have a nostalgic tie to corduroy, it reminds me of my childhood where I had corduroy overalls but they were pants & I hated them so I’m happy I finally get a perfect cord pini We will have more updates coming soon about our Rayna pini & you can check some more pics out online paired back with our cardies!

A much sought after print amongst made590 enthusiasts this one is at the top of many bunny lady wish lists. And what's not to love really, Cotton Tail is a perfectly illustrated print with frolicking bunnies hiding amongst a vast array of colourful wild flowers. We have chosen three beautiful new base colours: classic black, vibrant teal green and the loveli...est lilac, as well as also using the beautiful cream base colour way you might remember from our last Cotton Tail collection. This range consists of two summer dresses: Velma and Ruby, two great skirts: Valentina and Sunset and two soft and floaty Evelyn tops! Finally this magical collection is here in the flesh! We wanted to make a collection of pieces that were just as perfect for dancing the night away as they were for celebrations with family and friends over this upcoming festive period, and it will not disappoint. As always, these pieces are available as part of our ...EveryBody range in sizes XS-4X. All items in this collection will be made to order and out for delivery on Dec 11. Pre orders will open this coming Sunday 29th November. Please note that pre orders are capped as there are only a certain amount that can be sewn per day. 14.01.2022 I have these milestones, kind of like wishes, specifically focused on the shop where Im like oh yes if we had that or if we did this then we are legit proper shop front, so ridiculous I know! One of those was getting our own custom paper bags, another was getting a proper display built for our shop window. A HUGE dream was to commission our own side wall with an artist I simply adore... @madeleinegolden has made this happen & I love it so much & it isnt even finished yet!!! Watching this wall come together has made this week just the best, cant wait to see it finished!

All the choices, all the sauces, all the love For me pasta is all about my Nonna, she made the BEST pasta ever, like words cannot describe I used to tell my mum that all the time when I was young & now my kids says to me Nonna makes the BEST pasta ever. 14.01.2022 Our first ever jumpsuit has been made! This pattern took Kell, myself & our pattern maker Mindy the longest time to develop. She was so worth the hard work & we are excited to have her as part of our collection! Kirbs & I run through all the features & fit details of our Maisie MADEsuit. We will be releasing Maisie Sunday night but because she is our first production run stock is limited. There has been so much interest that we have decided that we will also offer a pre order on the denim as we were able to secure *some* more fabric. The pre order will go live once after the initial release, so if you miss out stay tuned! Thank you for all the support on our new style. There is always that hesitation bringing in a new style to the family but Maisie seems to already be super loved & she is excited to meet you all

11.01.2022 This #made590futurefriday weve got a little sneak peek of our highly anticipated new range of swimwear, coming out in the next few months! We are busily working on the production of these pieces right now and here is a little taster of our brand new shape, the Cassie Cossie! She is just a very small part of a very big range we have coming for summer 2020 and we are SO excited to be able to give you all a first look at our Beach Babes print in collaboration with @studioflos too! 06.01.2022 Pasta day!!! A little known fact about the made590 team is that if we aren't sitting around talking about clothes or animals, were talking about food! And one food we all love universally is PASTA! It's comforting, it comes in so many forms and we all have our favourite variety we love to eat. So after much discussion, we decided it was time to make this dream print a reality! Our MadeSpace in Marrickville will be open for in person try ons the following days (no appointment required); Thursday 19th Nov 10-6pm, Friday 20th November 10-6pm and Saturday 21st November 10-5pm. 02.01.2022 Monday May 24-Sunday 30th May is Australian Made Week! Made590 is proudly Australian made for 17 years and that will never change. When I first started in this business, a very long, long time ago, the local aussie made industry was still pretty strong, big brands had started to move offshore but there was still a lot of onshore manufacturing. It was always really clear that the end goal was to make in Australia for a short amount of time & then move offshore where you had m...ore opportunities, cheaper prices and greater quantity, it was defininelty taught to me that everything was shinnier and better overseas. So I started my journey in the rag trade, I truly started at the bottom not knowing a thing & fumbling my way through. It was in this time driving across Sydney that I met & created relationships with our suppliers, cutters, sewers, accessory manufactures, printers, pattern makers, knitters, presses you name it we found it. From weekly to sometimes daily visits, the relationships with all our manufacturing people grew. Then more & more factories started closing , supplies tricker to source & more & more brands started moving offshore. It really felt like overnight that everything shifted & the local manufacturing industry shrunk. I think I was probably about 5 years into owning Made590 that it really hit me that my end goal wasn’t moving offshore after all it was actually to stay right here in Australia & work with the people that I knew & who had supported me right when I started, why change when we had the best already? Last night, when we released our biggest ever knitwear collection, it made me so extremely thankful & proud for sticking with Australian made & producing all our knitwear with our knitter Bill who we have been working with for all this time. Better yet we did it usually Australian merino wool & in inclusive sizing. All of this couldn’t be achieved without a big thanks to our supporters, YOU, for supporting Made590 which in turn supports Australian made, it is a great big which is filled with all the good things. 01.01.2022 Oh my golly what a knitwear release we've had! Production on this range started in October of last year & it feels so surreal to have it out in the big wide world. We want to say the biggest thanks to Bill & his team for knitting us our biggest collection ever, to our Made590 team who have spent months preparing it all & of course to you guys - our community for supporting what we do @Kirbeelawler designed some new postcards to be sent out with your knit orders - how cu...te are they?
