20.01.2022 Earlier this year, Dulux Australia opened its state-of-the-art facility in Merrifield, one of the most advanced paint manufacturing factories in the world. Its also the largest paint factory in Australia and New Zealand and, occupying 22,000 square metres, is larger than the playing area of the MCG! The company is looking to make 50 million litres of water-based decorative paint a year for the Australian market at the factory. Now thats a lot of paint and its proudly #MadeInVictoria!

19.01.2022 Did you know that Melbournes new High Capacity Metro Trains are proudly #MadeInVictoria? The traction system, which propels the train using motors, gearboxes and invertors, is being made by locals in the Latrobe Valley. In fact, the Times Electric Australia facility and Downer employees in Morwell will assemble 25,000 individual parts to build 15 separate pieces of equipment to be installed in every one of Melbournes 65 new seven-carriage trains. Once the systems are complete, they are sent to Newport where the trains are assembled and fitted out. 18.01.2022 Maton Guitars is a family operated business and their guitars have been #MadeInVictoria for over 70 years. Played by some of the top musicians in the world, theyre a great example of excellence in manufacturing and also a great example of how manufacturing is thriving in our state. Over the next three to five years, Maton will increase their annual production to 10,000 guitars a year, with 50 per cent to be exported around the world. This will create another 10 jobs, adding to their existing workforce of 60. Great news for musicians and local workers!

Alba Cheese in Tullamarine draws on four generations of cheese making expertise, which started at the Bongiorno family dairy farm in the Sicilian valley town of Sortino. La Trobe Universitys engineering team, led by Dr Peter Moar, worked with the German Aerospace Center, DLR to create a number of advanced on-board control systems to manage the critical handling of image data and storage. The DLR Earth Sensing Imaging Spectrometer (DESIS) was installed on the International Space Station earlier thi...s year. This high-resolution camera will provide timely images of natural disasters such as fire and floods, as well as environmental changes across the globe, helping to save lives and minimise damage to property and infrastructure.
