Your design needs to be spot on. Your branding thought through. Your hook had better be intriguing. And QUICK. Assuming all these things are on point youve now got to keep your audiences attention with some bloody good copywriting. If youre welcoming your audience to your website, EDM or social post with bland and... unengaging content you can kiss any hope of traffic and engagement goodbye. The good news is, killer copywriting is absolutely a skill that you can develop Im also one of those people that experiences a deep burning rage every time I read rubbish copy so Ive decided that starting now, every Monday, Im going to share my tips to turn your copy from meh to a-ma-zing! The first thing that seasoned copywriters consider is HOW TO MAKE THE READER EXPERIENCE WHAT THEYRE WRITING ABOUT. Ever seen master storytellers at work? Its amazing how they can capture your attention and make you forget whats happening around you. When theyre telling a story, it feels like youre in that story. And the cool thing is: your brain thinks you are. When someone tells you a story, your brain couples itself to that of the person telling it. You dont just imagine what theyre saying, you experience it as well. Its that ability to generate emotions within your reader that makes storytelling so powerful. 23.01.2022 HASHTAGS // Heres 5 quick tips about hashtags that you may not know 1 Posts with just one hashtag get 12.6% more engagement than posts without. Thats a whopping 378% more engagement if you use all 30! 2 Create a branded hashtag just for your business so your customers can not only easily search for content related to you, but also CONTRIBUTE to your content feed. ... 3 Use capital letters when necessary: its a no brainer that #thisismuchmoredifficulttoread than #ThisClearMessageHashtag 4 Dont use too many or irrelevant hashtags Instagram lets you work with up to 30 hashtags per post. But if your try to sneak a popular hashtag into your post that isnt relevant to the content you will muddle your messageor worse, come across as an Insta spammer Stay classy and keep it to a dozen *relevant* hashtags. 5 Hide your hashtags! They clutter your caption and often convolute your message. To get them out of the way, include them in the comment section below your post or bury them beneath dots and line breaks.

Try these 8 simple tips to get your emails open, read, and clicked:... 1. Stop talking about your list. Stop talking about subscribers. Write as if youre emailing ONE person only. It instantly makes your emails more personal. 2. Quit wasting peoples time. Only email when you have something truly valuable or helpful to say 3. Be useful! Dont just email when you need something from your readers. Be helpful. Be generous. Be friendly! 4. Use your actual name as your from address. Put your name and reputation on the line. Thats more personal isnt it? 5. Be trustworthy. Let people know what to expect. Yes, sales messages should be part of your email marketing, thats fine. Just be clear about it when they sign up. 6. Dont be creepy! Feel free to personalise emails, but dont repeat peoples name too often (it makes you sound like a call centre script). 7. Be on their side. Remind people that theyre not alone. Tell them you understand their struggles. Empathise with them, and ask how you can help. 8. Give people a reward for reading Make sure people benefit from reading your emails. How? In 1962, a psychologist by the name of Bennet Murdock conducted an experiment where he gave a group of people a list of words. Afterwards, he asked them to recall as many words as possible. He found that when people had to recall items from a list, theyre more likely to remember the first and last items. The first item because it gets the most attention, the last item because its the most recent. This... became known as the serial positioning effect. When youre writing content, your intro and your conclusion are the two most important sections of them all. 15.01.2022 ?? WHY DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU SEE ON INSTAGRAM ?? Instagram invited some tech reporters to an event to sit them down and explain why we see what we see on instagram at the moment (i.e. how the algorithm is working!). This is amazing because a lot of the time it's some 'expert' who has no affiliation with instagram talking about how things are working. So here are the details on the three factors Instagram is taking into account right now:... Interest - Instagram predicts how 'interesting' you'll find a post. Is it relevant and is it similar with content you've engaged with previously? The more they think you'll like it, the higher it will appear in your feed. Timeliness - how long ago was it posted? Instagram is now going to prioritise more recent posts so you'll be seeing less content from a week ago. Relationship - how do you know this person? Insta is going to prioritise content from friends and family. How do they determine this? Well, if you often engage with their content, tag them in things and are tagged in pics with them they will fall into the friends and family category. Other factors that will influence what you see include how often you open the Instagram app, how many people/brands you follow and how long you spend on Instagram during each session. See more

12.01.2022 COPYWRITING MONDAYS // Today's tip: WHEN IN DOUBT, READ IT OUT LOUD. A good way to make your content more powerful is to start reading it out loud. This is because, unless you practice speed-reading, you use your inner voice to read words out loud in your head. The technical term for this is 'sub-vocalisation' - which basically makes it easier for your brain to understand what youre reading.... By making sure it sounds good, youre making it easy for your readers to digest what youre saying. Theyll be able to focus on the message instead of the words. #WINNING. Reading your content out loud also helps you iron out any kinks in your content. Youll quickly realise when paragraphs dont work, when sentences are wonky, or when words dont flow. 10.01.2022 Any social media marketer will tell you that there's no secret formula to successfully engaging with your audience on social media. Well, they're not wrong. Having said that, there is a little trick you can apply which, when used consistently, will do wonders for your social strategy. It simply comes down to this: use just 20% of your content to promote your brand, and dedicate 80% to content that really interests your audience and engages them in conversations ... Remember, people use social media to be SOCIAL - they dont want to be subjected to your sales pitch every time they scroll to your content. The key to gaining their trust and therefore earning their following/ potential conversion? Make your content SHARABLE Suddenly, your business is gaining more REAL followers, who actually want to hear what you have to say. The simple solution? You need to find out when YOUR audience is online. Luckily, this is super easy. Simply go to your page insights on Facebook, hit posts and the very first tab shows you when your audience is online!
