31.01.2022 Another kitchen I built after water damage had all but destroyed the existing. I had to follow the same foot print due to the floor tiles remaining so included more drawers to make user friendly. Also quite a tall family so the Caesar Stone benches are at 1000mm high. 2 pack painted doors and panels in two tones. Thank you Tim from House Furniture Polishing for your efforts. Also the customer organised the glass splash-back from a photo.

25.01.2022 Thought Id better spend some time putting together some photos of projects from the end of last year. This was a new carport for a new build where one carport is just never enough. The idea was to blend the new seamlessly with the existing. The end result was worth the effort. I also customed some new gates and panels to close off the front yard from the back.

25.01.2022 Some after and before photos of an ensuite bathroom I just finished after totally gutting and starting again. Had to take it back to brick to shift the plumbing, cut in the shaving cabinet and create a recessed shelf in the shower because of the limited space. Re-lined with cement sheet, new tiling after screeding the floor and tanking. Still got a frameless shower screen to come but a big thanks to Mark from Field Plumbing and Greg at Reece for helping on this one.

24.01.2022 3 weeks ago I lost my best 4 legged mate, Emma and today her ashes were brought back to us. I miss not having her in the shed with me and everything else it means to have a dog in your life. I made this memorial box for her ashes, so we can remember her and the happiness she brought into our home. The timber is Tasmanian Sassafras and I inlaid her paw in Huon Pine.

24.01.2022 For a mates birthday I built him this guitar stool and music stand using solid Blackwood and Jarrah with inlays of Tasmanian Sassafras. After building and sanding, I sprayed with 3 coats of clear and finally a wax polish. Looking forward to his first performance. Happy 50th Mark.

24.01.2022 A big start to the year with building 2 decks and staircase for this beautiful property in the hills. Steel posts with LOSP timber and composite decking for a maintenance free deck. Finished with stainless steel balustrade wires and laminated merbau handrail. Pleasure working for these guys and Im going to miss the veiw each day.

23.01.2022 Today Im going old school.

22.01.2022 Gday. Had to replace two carport posts made of oregon because of white ants. Try to keep your posts clear of dirt and garden beds to help prevent this from happening. Luckily I got to them before any serious damage from collapse.

22.01.2022 It's been a while since I've put some photos up so here's a small job I did to replace 5 steps with a ramp for easier access. Treated pine frame with Merbau decking and trimmed with some 12v deck lights.

21.01.2022 This was a project that put my designing, my maths (with the angles) and my welding to the test. I was asked to make a stand for this exceptional Morso Wood Heater to make it easier to use while cooking pizza. I chose to weld a frame from steel being non-combustable and then built a door to be able to store wood and tools underneath. Adjustable feet for the undulating surface and then had it all sand blasted and powder-coated satin black. The leafy panels I used are ABS plastic and in theme with the surroundings of the garden. Side note. It cooks pizza really well.

20.01.2022 Today I got to replace some Handrails and Balustrades that had suffered terribly from dry rot. Great day for it too.

20.01.2022 Got to build some custom benches for a landing at Encounter Bay. Theres worse places to work, for sure.

19.01.2022 The latest project was a Pergola and Deck as this newly built house at Goolwa. As per the plans drawn by Domain Building Group (thanks again guys), I was able to make it bled into the house in shape and style. The roofing is a combination of steel and polycarbonate and the decking is 140mm Merbau timber screw fixed. Hope this outdoor space brings many years of enjoyment.

19.01.2022 So this project involved making a stone planter box into something more useful under the existing pergola. The owner wanted to have more seating and came up with the idea of decking the top and this is the result. Framing in treated pine and composite decking all screw fixed for any access if required. Ready to entertain.

19.01.2022 Happy New Year. Id like to introduce Luna to you all as I was in need of a new shed mate to take care of off-cuts. Hope you all have a safe and happy year ahead.

18.01.2022 Just finished building a dining table from Oregon that I stained and clear coated to match an existing coffee table they owned. I got to weld a steel frame that I had powder coated. One of the best parts of my work is turning sawn recycled timber into furniture.

17.01.2022 The latest kitchen now finished was a total renovation. Here are some photos of before and after as well as some during. The only things we kept was the roof and floor but everything else had to be replaced. After demolition I re-framed the walls to get up to code and to include new aluminium windows and door. New external cladding, eaves and plasterboard walls and ceiling inside after insulating. New plumbing and wiring to go with the Kitchen built and installed with custom solid timber bench tops and matching dining table. Laminated Merbau sprayed with 2 pack satin clear. Hoping my customers get many happy years of use and thanks for putting up with me for 5 weeks on site. A big thanks to Mark, Serg, Greg and Dave too for their part.

17.01.2022 Finished a pergola today and just beat the rain. Its 9m x 6m attached on two sides and roofed in polycarbonate. A good result in making a usable outdoor space.

17.01.2022 G'day all and I know it's been a while but thought I better put up some work from this year. The good old Aussie Barbie needs a place in every home. This customer wanted a shelter for their beloved BBQ and this is the finish design and build. Free standing steel posts and concrete pad, timber framed and Colorbond roof. Solid Merbau handrail with ABS screens and gable infill makes for a perfect place to gather around having a few cold drinks whilst the cook does their thing! Had to add LEDs for that party vibe.

16.01.2022 Beautiful views to work around to build this pergola for a future vine coverage hence the stainless steel cables. Thanks to Pat from Dingo Anywhere | Adelaide Hills Excavations for the holes.

16.01.2022 A custom built vanity using 2 pack paint finished with soft close drawers and hinges with a solid timber Merbau benchtop. Trying to use the space between this and the shower, I made a hand towel rail mounted on a drawer slide to get access.

16.01.2022 It was an honour for me when commissioned to build a cabinet for this artillery sword made as a tribute for a Brigadier recently passed. I chose Tasmanian Blackwood which I dovetailed and finished with clearcoat. For highlighting I used led strip lights cased in aluminium and made stainless steel brackets to hold the sword and scabbard in place. It will be displayed at the Woodside Army Barracks where the 110th Battery are based.

15.01.2022 Todays Site Supervisor, Luna the Dalmatian, at work in the shed.

14.01.2022 A kitchen renovation built just in time for last Christmas however the tiling and painting is completed so thought I should post some photos. Theres also some before shots to compare as well as some during the process. We really needed to open the space so had to remove a wall and two doors and then install new windows, electrical and plumbing before making good to all the affected areas. The kitchen itself has all new appliances, post-formed laminate tops and 2 pack painted doors and panels in satin. Many people to thank including Barb, Gav and Michelle for the painting and other valuble assistance, Mark from Field Plumbing, Adrian for Sergi Electrical, Tim from House Furniture Polishing and Greg from Charmwood Kitchens.

12.01.2022 I was given a Transit Van to work on and to design then build a functioning kitchen for going camping. I built a kitchen on full extension drawer slides that are good for 230kg so no support legs necessary. Great for pulling over to make a cup of coffee and some lunch. I also put the fridge on slides to access and another bench to sit at with a microwave and extra drawers. Built mostly from structual ply for strength and to keep the weight down and then laminated merbau for the tops. All the ply has been sprayed with 3 coats of clear and I used a deck oil on the merbau. Happy with the result with it being pratical and looking nice and wish the owners safe travels and comfortable camping.

12.01.2022 Just installed a custom vanity built with 2 pack gloss white and solid Blackwood timber top. Adds a bit of warmth to a stunning bathroom.

12.01.2022 Its been a busy year so far and I havent posted anything for a while but thought Id catch you guys up on a few projects. I had to come up with a solution to this hole in the ground. Firstly a concrete sleeper retaining wall and then framed a landing with a ramp to get safely to the backyard. All maintenance free with steel handrail and composite decking.

11.01.2022 So my challenge for this one was to fit out a 1970s caravan to make it a mobile cafe to be set up at Port Elliot. Frankie the van came to me as a gutted shell with a concept and I went from there. My job was to build the benches, fit the appliances and fixtures as well as make the windows. Got to work with Aussie Oak and had to build everything from scratch. Happy with the end result and wishing Sally and her family all the best with their new business. Be sure to check it out and grab a coffee if your down South. Frankie & the good life #frankie_andthegoodlife

10.01.2022 Tough working sometimes, this job of mine.

09.01.2022 This customer wanted a built in Pantry for the kitchen with floor to ceiling shelves and easy access with a barn door. Framed with pine, sheeted with plasterboard, flushed and sanded and new cornice to make it blend in. Then melamine shelves and hung the new barn door with track. I'm sure it'll get a good workout with the kids getting access to food.

09.01.2022 Just another coffee table built but this was an interesting build due to all the different materials used. The frame is steel welded and then powder coated, the carcass is mdf and the drawer is metal sided and melamine. All the timber is Blackwood sprayed with clear coat and then a toughened glass top. Liked the challenge.

09.01.2022 I had the granite benchtops installed on this custom outdoor kitchen today. Starting a trend with solid merbau with zinc mini-orb panelling but really happy with the result. A bit of electrical and plumbing before I hand over.

08.01.2022 Once again I had the pleasure of building the track for Flinders Universtity for the Warman Competition. This is an annual event where engineering students have to build an automated robot to complete the task given and then compete against other universities in the state and then nationally in Sydney. Its quite amazing the ideas that they come up with and then have to build to achieve. This is the seventh track Ive built and its always interesting but one time, Id like to be able to build a robot of my own.

08.01.2022 Got to have a crack at being a stone mason after I refaced around a combustion heater with cement sheet after removing the plasterboard that had been used and of course had burnt. The stone was a limestone that was all random sizes and also installed a mantel made from recycled oregon.

08.01.2022 If you are needing any spray painting, furniture polishing or staining then I can more than recommend Tim from House Furniture Polishing. A true professional and a great bloke as well.

08.01.2022 So 2020 has been more than strange with Covid19 and a lot of people have had to work from home. This is a home/office I built to make anyone not want to go back to the actual office. Laminate benchtops, melamine cupboards and bookshelves with drawers for the files. Even has led strip lights to make it brighter. I'm thinking this is going to the new normal for a lot of us.

07.01.2022 Pleased with the result on this project. A cabinet for single malt whisky made from solid Blackwood and toughened glass. Sprayed finish with clear coat. Just for something interesting, I hand cut dovetail joints for the corners.

07.01.2022 Built for an exceptionally special customer that needed storage and display for their high rotation shoe collection. Polar White melamine shelves with 10mm acrylic divisions. Added in bluetooth controlled led lights to highlight.

05.01.2022 Everyone in the family deserves to feel comfortable so I was commissioned to build this princess a pair of beds. Made of solid oak and veneer, then sprayed with 3 coats of clear to match other furniture in the house. She can now chill with everyone else in her own space.

04.01.2022 Here is some cabinets I designed and built for this sunroom. Made from Polytec gloss board and push to open mechs to keep the clean lines. The display cabinet is mirror backed with toughened glass shelves and doors as well as led strip lighting.

04.01.2022 I got to build a deck for a customer who had sorted the plans and materials so for me, it was just to build. Also helped with the shade sail posts but couldn't have done it without Cam. Thanks mate and also thanks to Pat from #dingoanywhere for all the holes.

03.01.2022 If you need any excavation work at all then consider using Pat from Dingo Anywhere. I have worked together with Pat on quite a few projects and couldnt be happier with what he does and how he goes about it. Very professional and a good bloke as well.

02.01.2022 A real challenge with this verandah. The customers wanted cover for the back door, not a traditional pitched style and to create an outdoor space to enjoy the view. The first problem was creating a design that would work with all the different roof lines, materials and heights as well as covering the majority of windows. Thanks to Domain Building for drawing plans and council approval, I was able to build this to be practical and compliment the house. 14m long by 4.8m deep I used 150mm square posts to keep the proportions.

02.01.2022 Had to repair these cedar bifold and french doors that face north with new hardware to get them opening again and came up with a solution to offer protection from the elements. I welded frames for poticos and roofed them to match in with the existing verandahs.

02.01.2022 A massive renovation of a bathroom and laundry that had plenty of surprises including no floor under the bath. Total gut and rebuild with moving walls, doors and the ceiling but still waiting on a frameless shower screen. Heres some after and before photos. A big thanks to Mark from Field Plumbing for helping me out too.

02.01.2022 Latest build for a customer was this booth seat for their dining room as well as a new dining table. Cushions were upholstered with high density foam and vinyl. Face panels in 2 pack white gloss, (Thanks Tim.) I welded the frame in steel and had it sand blasted and powder coated and then built a solid oak top, stained and clear coated to match the top rail of the booth. Plenty of storage under the cushions too.

02.01.2022 I got a request to make a 21st key for a Batman fans birthday party for everyone to sign. I decided to add led lights and an acrylic bat to go behind the hand cut black bat for this effect. Happy Birthday Haydo.

01.01.2022 This deck was the solution to leveling out the outdoor area to make for a great entertaining space. All framing was scribed to the existing concrete and paving and built from treated pine and all galv fixings. The Decking itself is a composite for low maintenance and screw fixed to access any of the services below. A good result and hope they get years of enjoyment from this one.

22.12.2021 I managed to get a Lego Millennium Falcon 75192 and it needed to be displayed as well as being a practical piece of furniture. So I built us a coffee table by using Blackwood. The design proved challenging to be able to incorporate the 10mm toughened glass, the granite base, led strip lighting and all the wiring as well as a drawer for the electrics and storage. 3 coats of clear brought the timber grain to life and it made for a perfect piece. For those interested, the Falcon is made from just over 7,550 bricks and the table finished at 1060mm long x 720mm wide x 500mm high. The total weight is just over 130kg but 15kg of that is the Lego. The led lights are able to change colours on an app and the Falcon lights are a kit bought from Light My Bricks. Really pleased with the result and would be happy to take any orders.

04.12.2021 I got to build a deck for a customer who had sorted the plans and materials so for me, it was just to build. Also helped with the shade sail posts but couldn't have done it without Cam. Thanks mate and also thanks to Pat from #dingoanywhere for all the holes.

26.10.2021 Just another coffee table built but this was an interesting build due to all the different materials used.
