25.01.2022 FACE BEHIND THE BRAND . . HI, I'm trish founder of MADE U SMILE .... . Few facts about me: - I'm a wife & a mum to a 1.5 year old boy. No pregnancy wasn't easy ( the whole time i thought where is this glow everyone talks about?). . - I am an Oral Health Therapist (OHT) - basically it's a dental therapist combined with hygienist. To sum it up.. I count teeth, clean them, fill them, remove them, x-ray them & whiten them. But more importantly I educate ppl on how to take care of them. . - I've always loved teeth whitening. This may be because it's the one area in dentistry where I feel I don't deliver bad news . Continued education is very important to me. In saying this, I have watched/ attended more seminars on teeth whitening that I care to admit too ( loser... I know ). . - 3 words to describe me: HONEST, AWKWARD & CARING. NO, I'm not putting thru prawns as potatoes at Coles self serve check out. YES, I can make an awkward situation more awkward - I don't know why silence bothers me . YES, i once gave away my last $5 in coins so an old man can get his car out of the car park. Knowing I didn't have any more coins to get my car out - pretty sure my husband still hasn't forgiven me . In my defence he probably fought in the war...& volunteers his time to help the community.. all I know is his not sitting in his car trapped in a car park somewhere. 23.01.2022 What's your fav toothbrush? Since falling pregnant (currently 30 weeks) and suffering from nausea I've gone back to using a manual Toothbrush. So i thought id share with u what i use & recommend to patients. My all time fav is the Curaprox CS 5460 @curaproxaustralia & here's why... Ultra soft bristles - so u won't wear away your enamel. Great for those that are a little heavy handed when it comes to brushing. ... Lots of bristles - in fact 5460 of them. That's almost 10x the amount compared to a stock standard t/brush. Octagonal Handle - making it almost impossible to not clean at the right angle. The 45 degree angle is perfect for getting into that gingival margin where the tooth & gum meet (this is where plaque likes to sit in the mouth). Also if u prefer to use a toothbrush with a small head I recommend the 'Curaprox Smart'- this toothbrush is great for those that suffer from a high gag reflex or even children age 5+. However, The British Dental Journal examined 50 charcoal toothpastes to determine whether they lived up to their claims to whiten, strengthen & detoxify teeth. The bottom line.... their is no scientific evidence to back up these claims, but also the abbrassive nature of the charcoal may wear down tooth enamel. . .
