04.01.2022 Bright, smiley 3-year-old Cove is learning to stand and walk again. After suffering a severe brain injury during an accident, Cove lost the ability to sit, crawl, stand or walk on his own. It has since been very encouraging to see Cove moving his legs and attempting to step forward when supported - a great sign that his neural pathway is returning. MAD Foundation funded a My Way walker, when NDIS applications only covered other items that were needed. It is pure joy to see Co...ve smiling and taking steps with his walker. Thank you sooo much MAD for funding Cove’s walker, it has given him the chance to learn to walk again! We can never thank you enough. We are practising standing, walking, and stepping every day. 04.01.2022 Grace has started kindergarten with the needed appropriate equipment to make sure she could access the kindie program and be safely positioned throughout the day. Grace requires maximum support for all activities. A Bingo supportive seat attaches to a hi/low frame which can be moved around the classroom and height adjusted to suit all activities. It also allows an easy transition for parents and staff from her pram to frame and reduces numerous manual handling risks. MAD has ...been able to provide financial help to Grace’s family a few times. Her parents remain incredibly grateful for MAD’s support. #makeadifference #madfoundation #beneficiarystory

01.01.2022 Here's a photo of Klaudia, taken during therapy sessions at the Royal Childrens Hospital outdoor space. Klaudia has Cerebral Palsy and had recent orthopaedic surgery and in-patient rehabilitation. After many months, she remained below the usual level of function and in need of further rehabilitation at the time of discharge. Unfortunately, Klaudia’s family can't access publicly-funded outpatient rehabilitation, as they are originally from Poland on working visas. Her family w...as under significant financial stress, after already paying for many other therapies. MAD was pleased to provide funding for continued physiotherapy sessions. Klaudia remains very motivated and is working towards her ongoing goals of walking without crutches, dancing and returning to running. #makeadifference #madfoundation #beneficiarystory
