16.01.2022 Thank you for an amazing 2018, Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. What an amazing year it has been for the Madiba Project. With your unwavering support, we would like to use this opportunity to outline some of the progress made this year. In January, Abax Kingfisher Pty Ltd and Bathurst Regional Council helped ship library materials for the Sierra Leone Library Board and the Institute of Public Administration and Management. ... We were able to organise the 3rd Annual Schools Multicultural Concert with the wonderful help of Multicultural NSW, Bankstown Sports Club and the Bankstown Youth Development Service. The event brought young people from the Sutherland Shire areas of Sydney primarily of Anglo Celtic background, and local young people of culturally diverse backgrounds from the Bankstown area together. This included young people from African and Pacific Islander backgrounds along with people from other communities such as Philippinos, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Greek, Australian and Arabic were either performing or in attendance. St Lukes Catholic Primary School and Connells Point Public School in Australia donated educational materials to Neufville Christian Academy and We Yone Child Foundation Community School - Kroobay, Sierra Leone. It is worth acknowledging that St Lukes Catholic School organised storage for some months, raised funds for shipment and the parents, teachers and community members assisted in loading the container. Similarly, Connells Point allowed us to load the container on their school ground in July this year. The materials are currently in use at the Sierra Leone schools mentioned. In November, we were able to collaborate with a member of the Sierra Leonean community in Australia who offered us 10ft in his container, which enabled us to send over 500 chairs to Sierra Leone. The icing on the cake came when a supporter of the Madiba Project contacted Sunrise to nominate myself as an Australian Suburban Superstar. This resulted in considerable airtime and exposure for the Madiba Project and myself. In recognition of the work that we do, they gave a $7000 donation. I was exceptionally humbled and grateful for this acknowledgement. Volunteers will be traveling at the end of this month to Sierra Leone to visit the schools that we have donated materials to and follow up on the library shelving and furnishing still at the port. From the Madiba Project team, we thank you for all your support in 2018. We wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous 2019. We are looking forward to your ongoing support. Have a safe holiday season.

I am on my way to Sierra Leone to attempt again to release a container that has been at the port since March and distribute more materials. I will do my very best to keep you all informed. 06.01.2022 https://au.news.yahoo.com/sam-macs-weather-8-00-220204265.h At times when it is hard and challenges are place in front us, we wonder why we do what we do to help the underprivileged schools in Sierra Leone. Sometimes we even want to give up due to disappointment and the mishaps that we encounter during this amazing journey but we always think of what the great Nelson Mandela once said; I am fundamentally an optimist. Whether that comes from nature or nurture, I cannot say. ...Part of being optimistic is keeping ones head pointed toward the sun, ones feet moving forward. There were many dark moments when my faith in humanity was sorely tested, but I would not and could not give myself up to despair. That way lays defeat and death. From the bottom of the Madiba Project teams heart we thank any person, business, school or organisation that has supported the Madiba Project. Today was an amazing experience and we are thrilled with the coverage we received on Channel 7s Sunrise Weather segment this morning. Thank you to Sam Mac, Channel 7 and Sean

04.01.2022 Thank you Mama Salone for your hospitality and bravo to the government of Sierra Leone for granting us a duty waiver. Another awesome mission I should say. Arrived in Sierra Leone on the 29th December 2019. We got the container out and engaged over thirty young people in the offloading, sorting out of the materials and I am very pleased that I was able to be part of three distributions to Sierra Leone Football Association, Ministry of Sport and to the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education. The Madiba Project team Sierra Leone will continue with the distribution to the North of the country and also to the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education. Thank you to everyone involved.

04.01.2022 Thank you Brookfields Community, Sierra Leone Library Board and Freetown Secondary School for Girls (FSSG) for sending your librarians to assist us in sorting out the books.
