17.01.2022 Continued relief for holders of commercial leases: The COVID-19 commercial lease rent relief regulations have been replaced by new but essentially identical regulations. The new regulations came into effect on 24 October 2020 and extend the protections to 31 December 2020. Like the expired regulations, the new regulations adopt the National Cabinet’s Mandatory Code of Conduct SME Commercial Leasing Principles, created on 7 April 2020, and define certain prescribed actions... by commercial landlords, which are prohibited during the prescribed period in relation to impacted lessees. Be sure to read our latest blog post for all the details: https://www.madisonmarcus.com.au/nsw-extends-rent-relief-f/ If you require further advice, please contact Denis Hall, National Head Property Group at [email protected]. #MM #commercial #tenancy #property #law #covid19 #updates #landlord #smallbusiness #commercialproperty

13.01.2022 The catastrophic explosion that shook Beirut on August 4 is a tragedy difficult to comprehend. With over 200 dead, 5,000 injured and 300,000 displaced from their homes, the people of Lebanon desperately need our help. On Friday night, we’re attending Light for Lebanon, a special fundraiser dinner where a painting commissioned by our Managing Director, Bechara Shamieh, will be auctioned for charity. The painting, St Charbel, The Saint - Peace & Love, Lebanon Forever, has been... created by Kenneth Lee, an exhibiting artist who has been an entrant in both the Archibald and Wynne Prizes for the past two years running. The artwork depicts St Charbel, known for answering prayers for healing, and an evergreen cedar tree, which is commonly seen as a symbol of endurance and eternal life. If you would like to place a bid on the painting, please visit https://airauctioneer.com/light-lebanon/st-charbel-painting. Bidding ends 9pm, Friday August 28. All proceeds will be donated to Steps of Hope, a registered not-for-profit with DGR status. Please join us in helping this worthy cause.
