The health and safety of the wider community is foremost in our minds in these times of increased risk due to Coronavirus. As an alternative, we continue to offer our Alpaca Experience every day at 2.45pm for 3pm in Kurrajong Heights. Enjoy the opportunity to feed the alpacas by hand, in the open air, with physical distancing from other participants. Bookings available on our website at $20/person. ww...w.MadisonsRetreat.com.au. Cancellations possible until 24 hours prior, and postponements available until 2.30pm on the day. We would like to remind you that we have a flexible cancellation policy for accommodation bookings as well. Please see our website or give us a call for more information. Having said that, we have individual cabins (sorry, no trains - they were damaged in the bushfire) so you do not need to be in contact with other guests. We have a beautiful farmstay just outside of Sydney (in Kurrajong Heights) that is used mainly for weekend retreats by couples and families, as well as school holidays. Ideally, you will have a love and understanding of animals, so would be willing to oversee the animal stud, including daily feeding, animal husbandry, show preparation, occasional birth assistance and transportation. With 8 cabin...s, there is also a need for general repairs and property maintenance. Experience in mowing, slashing, fertilising, weeding, use and maintenance of power tools and machinery is important. Ability to supervise volunteers would be an advantage. 12.01.2022 Thanks for your help - we have enough fabulous volunteers who have very kindly offered to cuddle our new herd! We just bought some gorgeous young boys (and a few mature ladies). Unfortunately, they are covered in burrs and it all needs to be removed before they are allowed into our paddocks in Kurrajong Heights. This has happened to us previously and it took an hour for 4 people to do one animal. We are looking for volunteers to help us remove all the burrs. We can offer shared accommodation and food.
