18.01.2022 I just wanted to check in to see how everyone’s doing today. Are you going okay? Some days I feel really productive/creative/like I’m nailing the parenting, and other days, not so great. Today, instead of shooting a lovely wedding in the Freo sunshine, I yelled at some pigeons for hanging out with my chickens and I stared at a new plant leaf for what could have been 5 minutes or 5 hours. Who the hell knows? Time hasn’t felt like such an illusion since I was 9.5 months pregnan...t. Also I ate the kids Easter eggs for lunch. Anyway I just wanted to say hi. I don’t have any advice or words of wisdom but just wanted to say I’m riding the wave with you. Sending out lots of love to wherever you may be in the world and in your mind Also, I’ve just posted something in my stories that just happened and made my day a little brighter, perhaps it will give you a smile too

It’s a different chaos to the kind I know; life is set at a faster pace for you. You are receivers of slightly-too-rough hugs, showered with gifts of hand picked flowers, LEGO, half eaten biccies and odd trinkets. Your hair is a thing of true beauty and wonder! Your sons tell me it smells like lollies, ice-cream and flowers. And one time, of football... (the truest of compliments!). You are the queens of your castles. I see you and you are beautiful

15.01.2022 When I first saw Ellie on her wedding day, she had such a calm and lovely energy about her. I asked her how she was feeling and she said she was so happy, that she’s already having the best day ever. When I look at this photo it makes me think of that conversation. As though the two of them being together is easiest thing in the world
15.01.2022 Steph told me that during the last weeks of her pregnancy, she watched as a little Willy wagtail built its nest outside her kitchen window. As her due date neared, the little mama bird laid some eggs. Well Isla’s due date came and went and while she wasn’t yet ready to come into the world, three little willy wagtail’s were quite happy to make their debut. Ten days came and went, and finally Isla was ready to see what the outside was all about too. And only a couple of days la...ter, Steph’s Mum noticed the baby birds had learnt to fly and off they went into the big wide world. Steph made a comment to me about how she couldn’t believe how that little mama bird built a home, had her babies, taught them to fly and off they flew, all so quickly. And it’s funny, my big girl started her last year of primary school yesterday. 10 and a half years of having her in the world, but boy can I relate to that Willy wagtail mama. 14.01.2022 Can’t tell you how much I love being around Heath + Geo. Many of their legend fam + friends quarantined for two weeks to be apart of their big day, a true reflection of the kind of people H +G are. They accepted everything that came their way, from last minute venue changes to portraits in the pouring rain. When I asked Geo how she’s managed to be so cool and calm amid all the crazy, she told me I’ve got my people here, that’s all that matters. Isn’t that they absolute best way to do life?

05.01.2022 Their friendship was forged when the little human started syphoning food down to her from her highchair. But she has always loved the way she smells and she likes to lick her tiny toes. They care not for boundaries or personal space. They inspect all the things together but are easily distracted. On their favourite days they go on long walks, play in the sun and eat random things off the floor. Actually, a lot of their friendship is based around food. 03.01.2022 Ten years with our first born and I can’t quite believe it. Always doing things in her own time from the moment she was born to when she finally let me take this photo of her last night. A perfect storm of deep thought and deep emotion. She writes the most wonderful stories, she exists in the moment, she is made of music and it pours out of her like the sea. She makes me laugh every day. She makes me cry sometimes. I love her in a way I have never loved before
