Mad Mountain also has beautiful and unusual potted herbs for your garden as well as teas from their own home grown plants. We have music by @leighjames59 tomorrow - we won’t have tables and chairs set up but we want you to have the joy of listening to music while you shop for your local fresh healthy produce. Winter vegetables, leafy greens, medicinal herbs, culinary herbs, chilli plants and a few random surprise plants that took our fancy. Borage, also known as bee bush, is a medicinal herb with edible leaves and flowers Borage also takes the gold medal for being one of the best plants for attracting native bees to your garden and increasing the pest resistance of nearby plants. Borage has long been used in natural medicine as an anti-inflammatory and used most commonly to treat conditions such as arthritis and also used topically for skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. This beautiful little perennial plant makes an excellent ground cover or garden edging with it's delicate purple flowers. Bees and beneficial insects love it. ... The Heal All plant has a long tradition of use in herbal medicine. It is also a vitamin rich food herb. It's leaves can be blended into smoothies, eaten in salads, added to cooked meals such as a stirfry, or dried and used as a tea. 03.01.2022 Plant of the week The mushroom plant is one of our personal favourites at Mad Mountain Family Farm, which makes it a perfect pick for our plant of the week. The nutritious leaves of the mushroom plant contain iron, Beta-carotene and vitamin C. The leaves and stems are eaten raw in salads or cooked as a green vegetable in stir-fries. 01.01.2022 We will have our absolutely stunning Damiana plants and seedlings for sale at our markets this month Damiana is a beautiful flowering permaculture plant with many uses, It is also known as the dreaming herb. It's leaves and flowers can be eaten in salads or added to green smoothies, it can be dried and used in herbal teas. Damiana is great for attracting native bees and other beneficial insects. It is a beautiful shrub size plant, which is great when used as a medium size ground cover. Damiana is one of our favourite plants here at Mad Mountain Family Farm and we're sure it'll become a fast favourite of our gardening customers.
01.01.2022 Check out our beautiful Tulsi Basil bush This amazing herb has many uses and is incredibly medicinal. Bees absolutely love this herb especially when it's in flower and it's fast becoming one of our favourites. This herb can be added to salads or pesto sauce bases, It can be dried and used to hot or cold herbal teas and can be used in medicinal tinctures. The Mad Mountain Family Farm team have made a new delicious Tulsi Basil herbal tea which will be available at our upcoming markets.
