30.01.2022 Have you been wanting to do some more electronics activities? I have just posted 2 new events for the school holidays, one is an electronics activity where you will get to make a "music" making device. I will not be judging your musical abilities. The other is a retro gaming device. This is a handheld game machine that will allow you to play 4 classic style games. Parents you will certainly remember these. https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/holiday-science-making-an-e... https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/holiday-science-making-a-re
15.01.2022 There are still spaces in this weeks activities. Tuesday and Wednesday 10am: Making marshmallow launching catapults. Make and modify a catapult that can fling a marshmallow a huge distance. How many rubber bands and how long to make the throwing arm is up to you. Those fortified gummi bears are going to be in for a surprise. https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/school-holiday-science-cata... Thursday and Friday 10am: Mousetrap cars. Using the power of a mousetrap spring, make a car that can zoom around. Once again, you will have an opportunity to customise your vehicle and tune it to improve performance. https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/holiday-science-mousetrap-p Bookings can be made via Eventbrite by clicking on the links.
11.01.2022 One of the bonuses of my job is that I get to "research" stuff. Some would call it playing but it is important to test carefully the activities that are going to run. So tonight I was testing my mousetrap car building, only to notice that I left some important tools at home and had to improvise. Whoops The red stripes are there to help make the car go faster. ;-) So I am going to have to do some more "research" through the week because I think this kind of thing needs further study..... Maybe I should do racing green stripes instead?

06.01.2022 To make things easier, I have my 3d printer hard at work making adapters to improve the mousetrap cars. This way they will be much easier to build. If you want to find out more, come along to the event.
