16.01.2022 Our Open Day was a great success!! On Saturday 22nd February, Madwheels Youth had their first ever Open Day. Over fifty people attended, representing schools from the public and private sector, community service organisations and the Door of Hope Christian Church. Those in attendance had an opportunity to view the newly refurbished workshop and to see some of the learning activities for students, including the operation of the car hoist. Launch of our Participation Certifica...te - GEARING UP ENGAGING OUT The launch our new Participation Certificate will record our students’ achievements and be presented into a folio at the end of their time at Madwheels Youth. This can help them in three possible ways: Provide background information for making informed choices when selecting courses in further education: Provide records of work experience when seeking employment. Skills learnt can go towards units of work as part of accredited subjects within the secondary school that the students attend. A minister of Door of Hope Christian Church, gave an address explaining an overview of the ministry of Madwheels. Our guest speaker, an Assistant Principal from a local High School, explained the positive and valued impact the volunteers from Madwheels Youth had on his students. He noticed changes in students’ attitudes towards their schooling, as measured by their improved attendance record. People enjoyed a delicious sausage sizzle and great networking took place. Please contact us if you want to know more of our program and how Madwheels Youth can assist young people. e-mail address: [email protected] See more
