11.01.2022 So after months of preparation and painting the skate park mural has been completed and was today officially opened by the Cabonne Council representatives. I'd like to thank the awesome girls who gave up loads of hours to help me with this mural. Without them i couldn't have done it alone.

05.01.2022 A new mural installed at Canowindra Skate Park will be officially opened at 9am tomorrow morning (December 13) after being requested some time ago by local high... school students. Canowindra artist Melissa Gersbach was asked to work with youth in the town to produce the artwork, which was completed with the assistance of a grant from the NSW Government’s Country Arts Support Program. The mural was requested by school leaders from Canowindra High School when they addressed Council in 2017 and it is great to see the artwork commissioned, completed and now installed at the skate park. Leaders from the Shire’s three high schools address Council each year, and working with them to achieve projects is regarded by Councillors as one of the most rewarding aspects of being on Council. Melissa Gersbach has been working as an artist for about 25 years. She has completed her Diploma in Fine Arts and runs workshops for both children and adults, as well as being involved in exhibitions in the Central West and Sydney. See more
