21.01.2022 This is 33-year-old Najma Carroll. - She is yet another Aussie woman brutally murdered and discarded like rubbish. Late yesterday, Najma was found dumped in bu...shland near Sandy Point Quarry at Menai in NSW. Najma was beaten to death, some of her clothing was removed and her killer tried to torch her body after abandoning her. Najma is the 145th Australian killed this year. Her death means a total of 38 women have been lost to murder or manslaughter since January 1. Eighteen children and 89 men have also been killed. (Please see the end of this post for more details on this deaths). So here I am again. Talking once more about an Australian killed, asking why the bodies keep piling up and wondering when we will see the end to the violence? The end of violence did not come in time to save Najma. It is still very much unclear who murdered this young woman and there is not yet a lot information about her other than police saying Najma was transient and that she used drugs. Clearly, neither the way she lived or the things she did are reason for her murder, but I suspect her death will not receive the public discussion it deserves because for many people, her past will mean Najma is not worthy of sympathy, empathy, rage or compassion. I do hope though, that anyone reading this post will at least pause for thought and consider the value Najma’s life had and the future she deserved. And I hope that those reading this post will remember that she was not just someone’s daughter and she was not just someone’s friend. SHE WAS SOMEONE. AND SHE DID NOT DESERVE TO BE MURDERED.
