25.01.2022 We have landed in the USA! First stop yesterday... Citadel Outlets. This report will be text heavy because I didn’t take many photos After booking flights with a departure date a day earlier than we’d originally planned in order to save quite a bit of money we found ourselves with a spare day and night to fill. We had considered visiting Universal Studios but decided we wanted to wait for our next Orlando trip to go there. I came up with the brainwave to knock off our shoppi...ng early and hit Citadel Outlets for our first visit there. Not wanting to travel more than we needed to we booked a king bed 1-bedroom suite at Doubletree Suites by Hilton at Commerce i.e. in the carpark of the Outlets. We requested an early check-in but it wasn’t available, so we left our bags with the check in staff and headed off to shop until we dropped (literally). We powered through 4 hours of shopping and lunch before heading back to check in and drop off our first round of purchases. Then back for another few hours before stumbling upon Ruby’s Diner for dinner (the only time I actually took photos during the day - I was having issues with accessing data for most of the day and had to leave it in the hotel to update). It was fun and very filling but not the healthiest option. They had a few substitutions they could make gluten free but the chicken tenders were gluten free and delicious. Just like traditional fried chicken, which is one of my favourite dishes here in the States. It turns out shopping is a great way to stay awake. I think LJ slept for 3 hours on the plane and ML for about 2. She then had a nap in the stroller for another hour and a half but that’s it! So about 3 hours in 24 hours and then a whopping 13 hour sleep overnight thankfully. I don’t think they’ve slept that long at night since maybe ever!

24.01.2022 Day 9 - Part 1 I know, I know, it’s been so long since my last post about the trip. Here’s day one of our magical cruise on the Disney Wonder.

23.01.2022 Galaxy’s Edge reservations can be made online 60 days in advance now! When we were there people without reservations were being turned away from Oga’s.

23.01.2022 Day 8 - Part 1 I’m getting back on track... People often ask how I can spend 7 days in Disneyland and this post goes some way to answering that. At this stage of the trip we’d ticked off most attractions and shows, without totally wiping out the kids, so I let the kids have a day of picking what we do (aside from the dinner reservation I’d already made). They loved it and so did we! I will point out that we had saved most of our pixie dusted FastPasses until this day, so we were able to be a little more lax in the order we did things in. We were given the FastPasses after a couple of issues on arrival day that Disney, in true Disney fashion, made right.

22.01.2022 If you saw my comments about the Pixar Pal-A-Round Ferris wheel, this is why I always choose non-swinging!

22.01.2022 Day 6 Part 2 - I think I’ve been waiting for this moment since I found out I was pregnant with LJ... finally I got to watch a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique makeover. ML was super excited about this and had been checking all week about when we were going. I pre-booked online to coincide with our Halloween Party, so she had a little while to wait. There were people still making appointments for the day when we checked in just after 3pm, so it’s definitely not as hard to get into as the Walt Disney World boutique. We opted for the castle package so ML could get a new princess dress and we don’t anticipate it being an every trip occurrence. The total for this came to $215.45 including tax, which certainly isn’t cheap but it included a lot. So here’s how it played out.

19.01.2022 If you’re looking for us over the next week, we’ll be on this beauty with limited phone service enjoying some switched off time. See you on the other side!

18.01.2022 Day 5 - Another Disneyland Park day to hit the other half of the attractions. We were planning on heading back into the park for the final night of Spectromagic’s summer stint but we really aren’t night time park people. We decided while at the park to stay through until around 2 and then just be done for the day. Hats off to those people that can go from park open to park close, I have no idea how you do it! I was super tired while writing these captions, so if they don’t make sense you can assume I nodded off while typing, which happened more than once.

17.01.2022 Today we moved to the Disneyland Hotel, where we are very lucky to be staying in a concierge level room with access to the E-Ticket Lounge. I’m currently sitting here, enjoying a cup of tea waiting to view the fireworks in 20 minutes. Hoping, that by the time I return to our room my other three roommates are asleep . ETA: two of the three roommates had been asleep, until the third set of the clock radio alarm and woke the others up.

16.01.2022 Day 4 - Disneyland Day! Today we tackled our first of two full planned days in Disneyland Park. LJ continued his ride streak, attempting everything thrown at him today! It was pretty busy, being a weekend day that was expected. Early in the morning is consistently the nicest time to be in the parks crowd wise. Here’s what we got up to today...

16.01.2022 Day 6 Part 1 - This day had two big events scheduled, Miss ML’s Bibbidi Bibbidi Boutique appointment and The Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween Party at California Adventure Park. With a late night planned we opted for a sleep in and morning by the pool, so here’s some photos of the pool area at the Disneyland Hotel and the beginning of our afternoon adventure.

15.01.2022 Day 7 - Part 2 Following breakfast we headed back to the hotel where ML napped and LJ swam before meeting back up at California Adventure for dinner and a show.

12.01.2022 Day 5 Part 2 - Keeping the posts under 20 photos seems to help with the posting speed, so I’ll keep splitting them up going forward when need be. Here’s the rest of how our day played out in Disneyland...

11.01.2022 Day 5 Part 1 - I’m splitting this day up because this is my second time putting this post together, I’m not sure what happened to the first one - it’s lost in cyberspace. We’re back in Disneyland for this day to finish off most of what we didn’t cover yesterday. Originally this was going to be a MaxPass day but I decided I wanted to see how we went using the old fashioned FastPass. Our original plan for the day had us taking a break and heading back into the park for the final run of Spectromagic’s summer stint. However, I think it’s safe to say we aren’t a nighttime spectacular family. We shuffled some things on the go so that we were done by 2pm and then called it a day. I have no idea how people go from open to close repeatedly but hats off to your stamina!

10.01.2022 Day 7 - Part 1 Today was post-Halloween Party recovery day! We slept in, headed to a late breakfast, took another break and then spent the evening in California Adventure Park to see World of Color. ... Here’s a recap of our morning...

09.01.2022 Here is the promised post about our Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge visit from yesterday. I will preface this by saying that I’m not the hugest Star Wars fan (I still haven’t seen episodes 1-3) but I appreciate great theming, which is part of what I love so much about the Disney parks.

06.01.2022 Day 6 Part 3 - Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween Party! We purchased our tickets for the Halloween Party as soon as they were released back in May - happy Mother’s Day to me! The tickets cost $120 USD per person, which totals to just over $700 AUD based on today’s exchange rate . To be honest, if the exchange rate had been this low back then I wouldn’t have purchased them, that’s the cost of one 10-Day ticket! Even at the exchange rate I paid, was it worth it? To be honest, probab...ly not if we’re talking simply about what you get for your money in comparison to a day in the park. If you are a major character hunter then it offers rare characters you won’t find elsewhere. So why did we buy tickets? We’d promised ML she could attend a Halloween Party the next time we were in Disney for one when she missed out on the last trip due to being a little too young still and we’re kind of Halloween Scrooges at home, so our kids love the chance to ‘celebrate’ Halloween. I think they said ‘trick or treat’ to every single cast member in every treat trail we visited! It never got old for them.

05.01.2022 So we’re home . Once I got behind with posts on the cruise I decided it was easier to just wait and post about the rest of the trip once we got home. Jet lag has hit me tonight but I’ll do my best to start posting tomorrow night. I’m excited to share details of the rest of our trip. If you’re waiting for an email or message from me, I’ll endeavor to get to those as soon as my body clock has me able to keep my eyes open beyond 8pm.

05.01.2022 Day 8 - Part 2 Here’s hoping I don’t fall asleep while writing this one. Noticed a few errors in last night’s post were I had nodded off mid typing and not noticed. Here’s the last of our Disneyland adventures, hopping over to Disneyland to do some of our favorite attractions one last time before driving down to San Diego for the cruise.

03.01.2022 Day 3 and we were excited to finally hit some rides with a jam packed day at California Adventure Park. If you’ve been following us for awhile you’ll probably be aware that LJ has up until today been reluctant to ride any attraction with a height requirement. I’m happy to report that with the exception of Incredicoaster, all four Magical Mouse family members attempted all the attractions in our itinerary. Here’s what we achieved...

01.01.2022 This was my childhood. I am sooooo excited!
