25.01.2022 Magic Rental's pet advisor Eli is fascinated by the fact each state and territory in Australia have their own, very different legislations when it comes to pets in rental properties For example in Victoria from March this year landlords can not unreasonably refuse a tenant to have a pet whereas in South Australia approval of a pet is still at the landlords discretion. Other states such as Tasmania are approved to add a term of the lease agreement that stipulates the tenant will need to have the property fumigated at the end of the lease, whereas in South Australia this is not allowed.
