23.01.2022 When we moved Magic Shoebox to Inglewood last July I watched a you tube video on how to lay carpet squares. I am still so chuffed that I did this by myself. The amount of stuff I have learnt via you tube ......... :)

21.01.2022 Julie is so much of the Magic in the Shoebox! Her heart has been invested in Magic Shoebox as much as mine. I have had the pleasure of seeing her joy as her family grew and the excitement of each grand baby over the past nine and a half years. No one loves as well as Julie. ... She reminds me that it’s my wedding anniversary because she knows I always forget. We have seen each other in sickness (mild as well as the scary) and in health. She has held my business together when I physically could not. Julie has the most amazing spatial skills of anyone I have ever met. No one could possibly play fit the shoeboxes on the shelves tetris as well. It’s a serious superpower. She is my best Shoebox model because she is crazily photogenic and always has such great looking hair. (another superpower) We can often finish each other sentences. I have an idea in my head and it often comes out of her mouth and vice versa. I will miss seeing her beautiful face!

17.01.2022 I am off exploring for the next week. It’s the first solo ( yep all by myself ) holiday, for pure leisure, that I have had since my back packing days as a student. 12.01.2022 *SOLD * I have two 5x5 IKEA EXPEDIT units for sale. They were to be picked up today and the lady cancelled at the last minute.... They are $85 each. Take both and I’ll throw the 5x1 shelf for free. They are in fair condition, have been used in store so some wear and tear as per photo, screw marks where we anchored to wall / floor etc Such fantastic, practical shelving. 06.01.2022 EDIT - ALL NOW SOLD Some of you mentioned being interested in our shelving....... They are perfect for the garage! These units are metal and mdf Good used condition, used for shoe storage only.... $45 a unit 180h x 90w x 40deep (lip on shelves) Some oily blutac marks where we have attached labels. Cash and carry and I cant hold. They are not heavy but awkward to move, would recommend shifting them assembled. 06.01.2022 I am asked why I am closing / selling Magic Shoebox and here it is.......my heart! Magic Shoebox was born the year Eva started school. Its been a demanding sibling, particularly during school holidays and weekends. Eva turns 15 next month ( it goes so, so fast) I dont have many more school holidays opportunities with her before she if off exploring the world on her own.... I can no longer pull her from school during the term to take holidays ( when Shoebox is less busy) because she has her academic and sporting goals and dreams to aspire to now as she heads into year 10 next year. Covid was a blessing for me as it allowed to step back and reassess. I love Magic Shoebox! I love the extraordinary people that I have the pleasure of working with and I absolutely love your visits to the store, the great conversations, watching your children grow........but, my beautiful girl and my amazing husband ......... I love them more. I really hope that someone wants to continue Magic Shoebox and grow her into a beautiful teenager but, if not, our last day will be October 10th. Its the last trading day of the school holidays and Evas 15th birthday. It seems fitting. Kath x See more
