09.01.2022 Every Wednesday and Thursday miss 14 has tutoring with the awesome team at Kip McGrath, Port Macquarie. The time is odd, nothing is open and by the time I get home, I have to turn around to come pick her up so most of the time I like to just sit in the car with the window open, listen to the birds and chill. I realised today that sitting still and relaxing is quite hard for me. But for the last few years, without even realising it I have actually been doing it successfully at least one a week. This year I’m going to focus on carving out more chill time in my week and not feel I have to make excuses why or apologise. Burnout is real folks. 07.01.2022 For all our new followers - welcome! I'm really happy to see you here and to learn more about your business. Some things you may not know about me? I've only had my face in this feed once since starting the account. Crazy huh? With the prompting of my mastermind group with @the.founders.team here I am, showing up. What you may not know about me is that I started my business 14.5 years ago while 34 weeks pregnant with our third baby Matilda. Our boys were 6 and 3 and we'...d just finished building our second home. I was also at uni studying full-time. I kind of fell into being in business but looking back I can see that I would have eventually headed here anyway. While I was a fabulous employee (aren't we all?) I chaffed at being told what to do and having no control over my work goals or even my work day. Over the years I've seen the way we do business change and grow so much and it still makes me excited to be in business. What I was doing 14 years ago to work remotely can now be done with software like #Xero #Dropbox and #O365 My passion is working with business owners to find ways so they can achieve their goals and help them to get their life back. 06.01.2022 This time 15 years ago I was 34wks pregnant and getting ready for my first day at the computer in my new business. With two little boys, a newborn girl and a very supportive husband I was able to grow my business, take on interstate and international clients and work with clients that made my heart sing. I’ve had staff, contractors, a home office, an external office. Pivoted, grew, scaled back and then grew again. But the main reason why I’m still here 15 years later (when ...I didn’t last 9 mths before getting bored and changing jobs) is that I continued to learn as much as I could about being a business owner and because I designed a business around our family goals. Everyday I’m learning, growing and pushing myself outside my comfort zone. It’s bloody hard work but I love it.
