Reapply every 2 hours. Make sure you buy your sunscreen in Australia as our SPF rating is manufactured for our climate.... SLAP! Slap on a hat with wide brim to provide protection for your head, face, ears and neck. SEEK! Seek some shade, especially between the hours of 10AM and 3PM when the sun is at its hottest. SLIDE! Slide on a pair of UV rated sunglasses and make sure they meet Australian Standards and have a lens category of 2 or 3. SLURP! Drink plenty of water and avoid fizzy or alcoholic drinks as they will dehydrate you more. Once a year, staff at Magnums are asked to submit ideas that would improve our guests experience when staying with us, while continuing our effort to leave minimal impact on our environment. A few years ago, we set up our herb garden, which still provides fresh herbs to our guests when they are cooking up a storm in the kitchen!... All staff at Magnums were also given a Reusable Coffee mug and water bottle, to minimize plastic wastage. We believe that all these small things make a HUGE difference. 05.01.2022 Alana's Must do in the Whitsundays! Sunday session at Cape Gloucester! Live music playing whilst you are only meters from the beach. Try the calamari.its just heaven with an ice cold beer! Saturday morning markets for fresh local produce and crafts, right on the foreshore! Cedar Creek Falls is a beautiful oasis in a tropical setting (in the wet season, it is a must). A lovely bushwalk up to the top of falls for a postcard photo.... Horseshoe Bay in Bowen. One of the few places with fringing coral directly off the beach with an array of hard and soft corals. Plenty of different species of fish, nudibranchs and hard and soft corals. Georges Diner at Conway Beach Tourist Park. 1960’s themed diner with plenty of nostalgia from the era. Tuk Tuk (Pedicabs) Champagne breakfast that takes in the beauty of Airlie Beach and a cheeky glass of bubbles with breakfast. Airlie Beach Trike tours include beautiful lookout points and Marinas all aboard a custom trikejust sit back and relax. The lagoon is centrally situated in the heart of Airlie Beach! 04.01.2022 Our top 5 BEST DRIVES around the Whitsundays! 1. Cedar Creek Falls about 40min drive from Magnums Backpackers. Best to see the falls after its been raining and insect repellent is a MUST! Once you have seen Cedar Creek falls continue on driving to Conway beach. There is a real cool café at the local Conway campervan park. Enjoy a burger and a milkshake! 2. Dingo Beach It’s about an hour’s drive, travelling through the cane fields. It’s a nice relaxing drive. Once you ...arrive a Dingo Beach, it’s a very small community. Enjoy a swim at the beach (stinger suit provided all year round) and lunch at the pub! Sorry no dingo’s on the beach!! 3. Not far from Dingo Beach is Hydeaway Bay. There are two resorts in this area Montes Reef Resort and Cape Gloucester Eco Resort. Both are situated right on the beach. You can use both of these resorts if you purchase a drink. They also offer live music over the weekends 4. Bowen Just over an hour’s drive North. Bowen is known for its BIG MANGO (don’t forget stop and get your photo take) Bowen has some amazing beaches Rose Bay and Queens Beach, they also have a lighthouse with 360 views. Otherwise you can sit back and relax at the local cinema. The Sisters café make a great breakfast and lunch and their coffee is amazing too! 5. Cape Hillsborough is about an hour and a half South of Airlie Beach. This area is great for bushwalking, camping and getting in touch with nature.
